I have a Level300 Leatherworker (dragonscale) and, while I farm for my own supplies, I also now need to get into the business of crafting items for people who bring their own mats.

Does anyone know of a web page that list the average prices (ballpark, obviously the price fluctuates over time and among servers) for providing crafting *services,* if I do not have to gather or pay for the mats myself?

i'm not sure what is fair to charge, and the price of the items (coupled with how rare they are) in the AH doesn't give me a lot to go on either.

Thanks.

Pricing services can be tricky. It's not like the AH where you can watch price trends easily.

I take a little different tack when selling my crafting services. Instead of setting a defined price, I tell my buyers to pay whatever they feel is a fair price.

This method catches some people off gaurd, but it has several advantages:
You will never outprice someone who needs your services
You develop immediate good rapport with your customer
Good rapport translates to good word of mouth, means more biz for you
People will often surprise you with what they will willingly pay for services
None of your customers will leave feeling they were cheated
You don't have to worry about being undersold or trying to track your current prices.

You will occasionally get a cheapskate, but more often than not I think you'll find folks pay well for services when given the opportunity.

Hope this helps,
