Dell dimension 2400
512MB pc2700 RAM
2.66ghz Pentium 4

I was going to add that video card since mine right now is onboard and dell is lame and doesn't have AGP slots. Will I be able to run this at 1024x768 at a decent framerate like 30fps with no bog down?

u need more ram man. i just started playing WoW and in Org i get killer lag and i have 1.5 gig, imagine with 512 it would be uber brutal. You will need to put the settings on the minimums and on 800 resolution. It wont look pretty but it will prob be playable

Much of your lag is because you're using a Celeron and a graphics card with a poor memory design for gaming; having heafty ram on it's own with weaker components supporting it doesn't do any good. I doubt the motherboard was chose with choice performance in mind either. It's not a fair comparison with the differences. With a good balance of components, one gig is typical lag free.

I'd recommend changing your graphics card for: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=BROWSE&N=200105+4294967168&Ne=300752&product_code=50723460&Pn=Verto_GeForce_FX_5500_Video_Card This is a DirectX 9 card, newer technology. The recommended card for WoW according to Blizzard is the FX 5700 (or equivelent) the 5500 is pretty much the best you can get on PCI. And it's from a reputable company, which should mean it isn't going to be pathetic. I've actually got WoW running stably on another FX 5500 in the past; but it took the usual recommended dose of Ram to do it, a full gig in total. You should get both of these if you want the game to run well.

I have $100 to work with, and i'm downloading the game right now so i'm assuming I won't have to pay $20 for it. I need $15 for the first months subscription, so that leaves me with $65. Should I even bother getting a new card without more RAM?

Yes. The onboard graphics just takes more memory off the main system. The 9200 does too; but the FX5500 doesn't, that's why I recommended that card over the original. Then you should save up for some Ram whenever possible. It'll be next to unplayalbe in a busy area like it currently is.
