Hey

i need some help

I have tried everything to patch wow form 1.12.x to 2.0.1

i have gone thru the the WOW troubleshooting section twice and tried everything.

i have never had problems with wow before and its fustrating

i have emailed WOW team for answers but they havent got back to me

this is the error im getting

"The patch "MPQs-1\UpdateBaseline\Data#common.MPQ\World\Maps\Kalimdor\Kalimdor_32_40.adt~Patch(Data#terrain,1776735)" could not be applied. (CRC mismatch: expected 0x3d34ba33, actual 0xedda8ad3.) If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (BNUpdate::PTCApply)"

now i believe a crc mismatch is something to do with the RAM

i have run ram test and my ram has passed them all

my system is

ASUS mobo A8N-SLi deluxe
Nvidia GeForce 6600GT
2 x 512mb Corsair ram

any help would be muchly appreciated

Possibly the patch you've downloaded is broken.. Remove the patch folder and download it again.. I had a similiar error after downloading a patch and re-downloading fixed the patching error.

CRC or Cyclic Redundancy Check errors do usually refer to physical errors and are usually down to physical faults of the media (ie cd's or hd) or memory problems.

Is the error message the exact same every time?

Also please explain exactly what you mean when you say you've copied it over from your other computer. Have you tried reinstalling from the CD's?

okay

yeah i have reinstalled it many times with the original game cds

and that works fine

i run the first patch 1.12.x

no problems there

then half way thru patching from 1.12 to 2.0.1 i get the error msg above and it is the same everytime.

Now i have 2 computers at home

'Computer A' good pc having problems with patching wow
'Computer B' crap pc

I installed WOW onto Computer B and patched it up to 2.0.1 no probs.
I copied the patched game files from computer B to computer A via network, from what i gather when wow is patching the game it changes registry values first so it worked.

so now WOW works on Computer A

i am just hoping that when i install Burning crusade i dont get a similar error
