Thunder and Lightning is a guild that was created in April 2006 to offer all of those players who can only play later in the evening due to Real Life issues a relaxed and friendly home and give them a chance to experience the WoW endgame.
We started on Kilrogg PvE server and have been eligible for paid cross server character transfers since October 2006. We play on Horde and Alliance, in order to give all of those a chance who had been missing out on the WoW endgame due to traditional guilds starting their raiding/events much earlier in the evening. Our guild raids/events start at 10pm ST (=9pm UK time), and our members come from all over Europe with a slight majority of UK players.
Over the months we have developed into a thriving guild, with a friendly and relaxed athmosphere, no obligation to raid daily/hardcore, Suicide Kings looting system, but still eager to progress in the game. A bonus of late raiding is that we have attracted mature guildmembers, who still have their priorities right, family, job, Real life, before WoW.
We have increased in numbers and are on the Horde side (=Thunder) regular visitors to MC/Rag, and on the Alliance side (=Lightning) on farm status for ZG/AQ20. We have successfully proven that a guild of more or less casual players can progress into the endgame, and have had our 15 minutes of fame when we were on Blizzards frontpage in November 2006.
With TBC many changes in guild activities will happen and we expect that both sides will concentrate on levelling over the next two months. However, we still want to have fun and explore the previous endgame dungeons MC/BWL at least once a week. Our focus as a guild is clearly on the lvl 60+ game.
Thunder is very well staffed and does at the moment not require new members, however, our Alliance side, Lightning still slightly falls short of being able to run the 40 man dungeons regularly, with the exception of having sufficient numbers of Warriors.
We therefore still look for friendly, relaxed and mature recruits to Lightning, who are in it for the fun of the endgame and don't mind the occasional "afk - need to bring son/daughter to bed" etc.
