and they all have VT running...

and based on some numbers from another thread, during each VT cast a SP can regen back 250 mana in 12 seconds... that is 20.84 mps regen per VT.... multiply that by 5.... that is 104.17 mps regen or 520mp5.

Would they ever run out of mana?

my mathcraft is mediocre at best... anyone else better at this stuff have any input?

Sure.....priests can spam a ton of instacasts.

BUT...by just regular old playing? No chance.

well, i am exaggerating just a bit, but with 520mp5 + whatever they already have, I would figure that it would take a LOOOOOONG time before they ran out of mana, even spamming MB, MF, MF, MB. Longer than any boss fight in the game I should think?

haven't tested it, just wanted to explore the option theoretically before going thru the effort of arrangin the testing.

I think the cost of VT would cause each SP to lose a little mana over-all, but yeah...theoretically w/ no resists or partial resists, MF's could always be cast for free in a group of 5 SP...

We could go for a LONG time w/out a break.

Gonna go see if i can find how our dam is calculated...

Have no idea if this is right... think I was actually pretty conservative w/ my estimates.

In a group of 5 lvl 70 SPs talented into Shadow Weaving, Misery, SF, Darkness, Focused Mind, all w/ an average of 500 +dam gear:
MF should cost about 195 mana and do around 1000 dam over 3 sec.
VT (R1) should cost 325 mana and do 651 dam over 15 sec.

Attack cycle: VT, MFx5 (GCD never comes into play)

Assuming Shadow weave(5) is already up...
Each priest would do 5651dam per cycle spending 1300 mana.
Each priest would regen 282 mana per cycle giving the group 1410 per cycle.
(and close to 8500hp)

Could be my math's wrong but it seems that not accounting for resists or other problems, a group of 5 SPs could theortically sustain 370 dps indefinately.

(i didn't account for things like Innerfocus + SW:D, priests taking turns spamming SW:D rather than MF, Meditation, or MP5 gear either though)

as linked in another thread, apparently DnT already tried this out with Loatheb... and 5 manned him.

yeah, it works.

oh and thanks for the math...370 dps is pretty good actually... very nice.
