Hey there

I am going to play Wow when BC gets released. I have played it a bit before, Wow. But I am far from being a pro so which class do you think I should pick (I am going to be Alliance). And have you got any other tips?

Here's a tip. Play horde if you plan on PVP'ing on a PVE server.

What type of role do you like playing in the game? What do you want to do, basically?

a) What did you play before and what did you like about it?
b) What didn't you like?
c) Something you'd like to add to what you were doing?
d) Why do you assume we're psychic? :-)

I have not been on here that long and I am already tired of these threads... Make one of each and figure out which one you like the best. Its your choice, not anyone elses.

are you leveling from scratch or buying an account (bold boy)?

if you are leveling a new one, i wouldnt even start thinking about MC.

read the class forums and see what class you like the sound of.

i think you should definately level a holy priest, prot warrior, resto druid, holy pala or resto shaman. they are the quickest and easiest classes/specs to level up

I definatly agree on this. And definatly scan the AH for as many cloth +healing for your level. You'll want as much as you can get!

/sigh

play what you want

For Alliance a Nightelf Hunter with the name as some variation of Legolas is the most popular.

I would make a Draenei Shaman - everyone will want you in their group.

Name him Hordalicious.

ZOMG!

Noooo she was kidding. Those are the slowest leveling class/spec out there. I think what she and I are trying to say is...CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT! It really doesn't matter what I nor her recommend, as if you hate it, your going to switch. We aren't you...and its a game....so make your own decision. If somebody told me to go level a warlock, I'd be at level 4 crying because I hated it so much. Others love them.

BUT speccing as any of those she mentioned is very not recommended....and she caught all of them....as they are end-game builds....not leveling.

On the topic, try the classes, it doesn't take long, find out what you like, and play !
We don't know you at all, so how could we chose for you !?

have fun !

I beg to differ - I stated what the most popular class and race was then gave my recommendation and I whole-heartedly stand by it =]

As you can see from my erudite, if slightly more jocular colleagues on these forums Kebab, choice of character is something that no-one can make for you. Which is why questions such as yours is often met with querulous voices demanding your revelation of the play style that most appeals to you.

For example, if you garner pleasure from supporting a team through healing, while retaining the ability to stand toe-to-toe in melee combat with your foulest foes then a Paladin might make a reasonable choice for you.

If you prefer the stealthy assassin with blistering sequences of attacks then perhaps our best recommendation would be for the dastardly rogue.

If you want to be the master of arcane arts, dealing fiery death from a distance then the Mage might appeal to your sensibilities.

And so on and so forth. How you play and what type of game play you prefer will be the best determinant of your class.

That said, you do have the ability to make up to 50 characters. I would strongly recommend picking two or three classes that you are interested in and levelling them up to 10 or so. That should take you no more than a few hours each and will give you a good idea of what they will play like. Keep them all, but continue with the one you enjoy the most.

Night Elf Hunter or Rogue, OR Gnome Rogue. Those are very rare class/race combos.

I'd like to point that Tanitha and Cychwin "win" this thread for being the only ones to actually post a useful response. :)

OK, this has to be a veteran board member that rolled a new username. What a ridiculous question.

Alright guys...enough of this pointless banter.

Kebab - we mean nothing by these posts...and 99% of the time its not like this. I think we all got riled up do to a post about new players coming and asking "new" questions. We really are nice guys.....or I am atleast....

Like I said before, Tanitha has excellent points. A class comes down to what you want it to be.....and hence....theres really no poit in asking complete strangers. Welcome to the forums! Stick around, there is a load of information on these forums, and definatly feel free to ask questions! (after doing a search....) :)
