Sooo, I was gonna bring a friend to try wow this week with a guest pass key I have, but then I realised that there were a number of limitations on what you can do on a guest account. All I can remember for sure is that you are limited to level 20.
Maybe you guys can help out? I really don't suddendly wanna tell him he can't do crap in there. Was there some restriction for BG's? Server type? Were tradeskills capped at 100?

No restriction on servers.
Tradeskills are capped at 225 due to level restrictions.

Don't know about the battlegrounds, though. Would love to know if that's possible.

BGs are possible. I had a guy in my party ask for arrows inside WSG...I went to him and attempted to open trade. I got the "Player is on Trial Account. That Action can't be performed" or soemthing like that.

What restrictions apply to trial accounts?
The following restrictions are placed on all trial accounts:

* A level cap of 20.
* A maximum of 10 gold.
* Trade skills are capped at 100 ranks.
* Inability to trade via the auction house, mailbox, or player-to-player.
* In-game chat channels will be unavailable.
* A limit on the number of tells that can be sent.
* Realms with login queues will give priority to customers with retail accounts.

These restrictions are only in place during the trial period. Players who decide to upgrade their accounts will be able to continue adventuring with the same characters and take full advantage of all features included in the retail version of the game.

That ought to do the trick.

Thanks for the answers. According to Valas' post, they can also join groups as normal? (not talking about lfg)

Yup, party chat, tells and say are about the only forms of communication you have on a Trial account. (Not sure about raid chat, but suspect it'll be treated just like party chat really.)

And if someone wants to know, how can you be so sure? Because I went through RFC to its full completion in a party, on a trial account (twice, once US, once EU).
