I'm still kinda worried over someone saying this site had one about a week ago? If you have one, are there signs to look for? (Besides missing gold ect, which I don't have... I still have plenty :D )

I panic easy, and would like to stop panicing over this so much... But I don't want to lose my hard earned gold...

Just make sure you computer is protected
ADWare/SpyWare cleaners, Firewall, Virus Protection,

TBH: Missing gold is the least of you worries if you have been keylogged

That's why I put ect after it :D

We sadly have no firewall, and AVG as our virus scanner... It's not the most protected thing ever, but before I got here there was no virus scanner at all, so it's an upgrade XD

But I know we could do better if we could afford it, and if she didn't hate Norton/McAffe so much... (It's her computer, I have no choice )

And I'm female, too... But I know crap about these things, she on the other hand built this PC

Honestly, I'd love to just re-format, but that's my uneducated self talking here >.>

I reformat once or twice a year, more towards the latter. I have a second drive that all my personal crap is on, so reformatting is no big deal to me.Even all my WOW mods that I am currently using are backed up onto that drive so that even when I have to reinstall wow, I dont have to try and remember which mods I had.

The price of hard drives these days, I find it smart to install a second hard drive just to keep all your personal crap seperate from your system files. You can get 160 gig hard drive for under 100 bucks...

There's a few free firewalls.

Not sure if the old version of Tiny Personal Firewall that I use is available for free (the newer versions are atrocious, tbh), but it wouldn't hurt to look for one.

a quick point about reformatting - with the latest incarnations of windoze you have to activate the os. After a couple of reinstalls Redmond central get a bit twitchy and start asking you to telephone for a fresh activation key - which can be a pain in the bum.

zonealarm.com has a good fw protection

TheFlameCrow, I would go with ZoneAlarm too for a starting choice.

It's personal edition is free if I recall correctly, but most importantly it has outbound notification and prompts you when something attempts to establish a connection to the outside world.

This should allow you to catch at least some of it.

Simple. I don't use Windows, so therefore I don't have a keylogger. :)

Thing is, I don't think I have one... But people saying this site had a virus kinda concerned me, is all

Did anything happen to anyone who goes here from that thing?

If you have a keylogger and you are playing on a slower machine, you might notice alot of lag while typing.
