I have a 60 T1 Rogue with some decent swords, im on the home stretch with my hunter for 60(hes 54) anyway between the 2 characters I have about 80 gold right now(I like the way the BDS armor looks for the hunter and wanted to get him in atleast all blues) I dont exactly have all the time in the world either for hardcore farming(I have my good spots though) nor a "get GM gear like everyone else push" I have to balance School, Work, and a really clingy girlfriend. I know about how fast you make money in BC and all that jazz and I do plan on getting the epic flying mount, People in my guild have been freaking out lately and have been farming like crazy because there afraid of not having enough money. Will I be able to skate by going into BC with 100g for each character? I know im going to have to work for that 5000g but with that 100g ill be able to not worry about being bankrupt right?

You can walk into outland with 0 copper to your name and you'll do fine. There is an initial flight path that you MUST use when you go through the portal... but its free :) If they change this... at least have 5-10silver on you. The quests in Hellfire Penninsula (the first zone in Outland) give monetary rewards of at least 2g and there are a TON of quests. You'll get 2g for talking to some npc for another npc in a building 10 feet away etc etc.
I had read that mobs drop upwards of 70s per kill... maybe thats true of the level 70 mobs but the humanoids dropping cash in Hellfire Penninsula only give 10-15silver. Regardless, i've made 200g (after buying new abilities) just questing to 62. i've yet to even run an instance.

what about all the new abilities that are going to be trainable?
and recipes that you didn't have access to before that will be available now at the trainer, surely those won't be free?

maybe you didnt read my whole post, maybe you're um... special. Even if you have nothing when you walk through the portal into oultand, you will have 10g in about 30 minutes. You cant buy abilities until 62 and by the time you have the mats to make anything with those new recipes, you will have the money to buy them.

Actually, you are not REQUIRED to use it...It just makes it much easier.

I did not see anywhere in your post or patch notes anything about buying abilities until 62. Also, I wasn't speaking about the new recipes.
I'll quote directly from the patch notes.
"Also, all of the old blacksmithing/leatherworking recipes that required specialization no longer require it and can be learned by any blacksmith/leatherworker."
I would think that most people with these professions would want to learn these recipes, which I would think would cost at least some $ and not be free.
Also, please try to express kindness and/or a nice attitude. You'll notice that most people here are friendly to each other and the mods prevent this place from becoming a sewer like the official boards. Saying that I could be "um, special" does not affect me or make me look bad in the least. I'm not trying to insult or belittle you, just trying to give you a heads up on what is expected behavior here on these forums.

Maybe I'm wrong to assume anyone who has played the game to level 10 realizes new abilities are every other level (the even numbered ones). Since we all got level 60 abilities already there arent any new ones until 62.
This little banter is down right retarded. I'm not telling everyone to go to Outland with no money. Just saying money is a non issue when you can have 100g (from zero!) before you hit 61 just from running around doing the same old ez quests we've all done countless times. (kill x number of evils bastards here, collect y number of random trash there). There are some cool unique quests to go along with the wow staple though. Bombing demons from a wyvern is pretty nifty. And there is a hilarious quest involving taking a felhound for a walk so it can do its business...
With no money on you when you hit outland I guarantee you that you will be able to buy your recipes and train new abilites without any problems. I would hope you enjoy the gameplay enough to be distracted by new content before you rush to profession trainers. If you can be bothered to quest for a few hours first... then you'll be good on money :)
OMG and nevermind the profession trainers, the recipes everyone wants are from rep in the first place!

Yep, you are correct but I still believe most will want to train recipes/patterns that weren't available to them before.
I despise the kill xx number of these mobs quest.

Not that it would surprise me, but you're saying thotbott's wrong on this? Since Blizzard is hoping that 60-70 takes as long as 1-60, it makes sense to give the players something every level past 60, so I was open minded on this. Admittedly, most of the classes only get one or two things to train at 61 (if thottbott's right), so it's not going to break the bank.

Agreed on the useful recipes being the rep ones. The trainer ones are mostly only useful to skill up on.
There are green drops that vendor for over 10g and gray drops that vendor for 4g, tho at level 60 most of the greens will be worth 2-3g and gray weapons for about 2g vendored.
And in BC there ARE spells and abilities that are trained at odd levels, but in the existing game they are generally on even levels.

But rgirty, you ARE special....to me!
Respect is key on these forums.
I thiink all rgirty is meaning, is walking into outlands with 0g MIGHT not be the best idea. I don't think he expects everybody to have 9000000g sitting in the bank. (although he might....)

I could be totally wrong there, I didnt even check for new abilities till 62. I personally would be irritated if we got abilities every level though. There are no class trainers in outland. (not in beta anyway) Soooo this means having to port to org (or wherever you want to go) from shattrah City everytime you level.

I heard something about some trainable things at odd levels, but never saw any solid proof.

Well, if the 10 levels are going to take as long as the previous 60, that still means that we're going to trainers 10 times in the same amount of time that we previously went to the trainers 30 times, so I don't think it will be too annoying. Even if those 10 levels only take twice as long as 50-60, it still works out to be the same number of trips in the same amount of time played.
Personally, I'd be surprised if 60-70 takes as long as 1-60 did, if only because Blizzard might be underestimating the fanaticism that can be applied to the goal. That said, I don't doubt that reaching 61 is going to take noticeably more time than reaching 60 did from 59, as they probably don't want us blowing through all the new content in two weeks and then get bored waiting for the next expansion.

<sarcasm>Seriously...nobody wants the unstable mana pot (equiv to major mana) or the health pot recipe....certainly, training up your first aid will be useless also...</sarcasm>

go to a class trainer and take a look. you get new abilities every level.
at least i do as a druid, i think i get the next rank of ferocious bite at lv 61! i didn't pay much attention when i was retraining after the patch, but i did see that i got abilities as lvs 61, 63, 65, etc.
it is true, just look at a class trainer yourself. it's a nice touch by blizz.

You can do just fine walking into Outland with just 10 silver or so, as you gain gold from quests and mob drops pretty quickly. I'd still say that around 30-40g is a recommended amount, possibly depending on your professions. This will allow you to pick up Master rankings of your main professions, and also Master First Aid. From what I recall from the BC Beta servers, these cost 10g each - although I could be mistaken, and they could also be cheaper in Beta than on the live servers.
Either way, 100g per character should be more than enough.

I checked the hunter trainer last night, there are abilities pretty much every level. The level 61 hunter ability is the next rank of explosive trap... i'll wait till 62 on that one when I go back to the trainer for steady shot.

Omg... after having walked the 2 RL-ones at home I logg into WoW and can start walking a felhound there ?
(I do find it a great idea however !)
