I was wondering which profession is the best to make money with? Or which is the best way to make money in the game?

Skinning and Mining is really good. Questing in Outland has shocked me, I bought out my 375 skinning skill for 10g and I made 15g within like 20 minutes later of just killing mobs, completing quests and selling grays.

Any two of the three gathering professions will get you enough money to live on...

That being said, my hunter, now 60, didn't take any professions and only bought two or three items from AH during his leveling, and had 130+ gold when he got to 60.

Just kill things, and don't worry about cash for now...Enjoy the game!

Yep any 2 gathering professions but do yourself a favor and avoid the Mining-Herbalism combination. it's not possible yet to be able to track 2 types of nodes at once. You can track ore or herbs but not both. Combine Skinning with either mining or herbalism.

You've gotten good advice on the two gathering professions, with one of them being skinning. For your lower levels that is the best and easiest way to make money.

As you level though you will want to consider playing the Auction House. The easiest way to do that is to get a new toon to the Auction House to be your Auctioneer, effectively. You never level them, unless they are intended to disenchant items for you too, but then you have someone permanently logged in at the AH. Send them money to invest, to buy items for you and play the other characters.

Check the Warlock forums for kcma's definitive guide to making money on the AH. It's a long read, but worth it and the methods described there really work.
