Dear wizards,

Quite regularly I notice an icon next to my portrait that indicates I have received a nice blessing/spell from a passing priest or mage, but before I am able to thank them, they've moved on already, and I don't know if they will see my "/s thanks!"...

What I would love is an addon that notices those buffs and whispers the blesser with a (preferably customizable) message like "Thanks for the [buff], [name|class]!".

Many thanks in advance,

Maan

Although this isn't exactly what your looking for.....you COULD create a macro of

/thank

All you would need to do is target that player :)

I'm sorry, I can understand the desire for this but it somehow cheapens the whole idea of thanking someone if you have the computer do it for you.

Still. I'd be interested to see if it were possible - either through a mod or through a macro.

Yes, but that's the problem! Often the player is already gone before I even see who it was...

Of course I'd thank them myself, if I could. But they cast this blessing on me and ride on, and before I can even see who did it, they're gone - and maybe they won't even see my "/s thanks!"... Surely it is better to receive an automatic thankyou than getting no thanks at all?

Actually, I think you can thank them - even if you didn't catch their name as you rode by. I believe you could simply click into the General chat Tab, scroll back and see the name of the player who cast the <insert buff> spell on you?? Then you can send them a /w "Thanks for the buff" at any time thereafter. Either the Combat or General tab should display this action. I could have sworn I've done this in the past while waiting for the gates of AV to open and threw the swarm of players waiting to go - I get a random buff from someone. Sure it takes a little scrolling and some work find the players name but if you really want to thank someone, I'd say its worth it.

Yep...you can do that. You might need to reconfigure what shows up in your combat log though...

Thanks Weebull and Stigg, I'll try that as soon as I get home!
