Logging out in Shattrath

Is there anywhere to log out in Shattrath so you get rested bonus? None of the inns seem to give it. Do I really have to fly to an inn in another zone to log out? :)

Anywhere in Shattrath counts as "resting" .... at least that is how I remember my first visit there. One logs out immideately (not after 20 seconds) and I had rested xp.

Logged out in the center room where the portals to all cities are (and close by are the Aldur and Scryer inns btw.)

I don't get a pulsing circle around my portrait anywhere and anywhere I log out there is a 20 seconds countdown. I even tried in the middle of the portal room.

Like Det, I thought you got rested bonus anywhere in Shattrath, but in any case there is an Inn in the Lower City part of the city.

I think you have to get one of the two groups to like you before they will let you make a home there to get "rested xp". Don't quote me on this though.

I never got rested in shattrath. I'm friendly with the aldor and I didn't even get rested in their inn. I didn't try the lower city inn, didn't realise there was one. I might try it again because it would be the perfect place to camp of an evening, except no rested bonus makes it pointless being there.

Hmm, strange.. I just logged out there yesterday, and it was an instant logout - i.e. no 20 second wait. Guess I have to check when I get back online, and possibly move my char to a different inn..

It's a bug, and Blizz is aware of it. You have to run out of the city and then back in. I think the problem is a result of having your hearth set in Shattrath. You don't trip the "resting" code so your toon never starts resting when you hearth, and since there are no rest/no rest dividers until the edge of town, you have to run out and cross the divider and then head back in.

I acctually noticed this this morning on my way to use the Mana Loom. I ported to Ogrimmar and logged out there.

I've tried the lower city inn (World's End Tavern),got no rest there either.

On a total tangent to the thread topic... anybody reckon this is a Sandman reference? Given the variety of travellers who were stranded in Outland when the portal was closed, it's not a particularly bad parallel... although not close either...

Or are there lots of other inns at World's Ends elsewhere in literature/film/etc?

Thanks for the heads up, as I hadn't noticed that.
I'll be taking that into account as I am one of probably many that set their HS there as soon as I could.

Aye...just flew to Shathrat and definitely got the "zzzz" icon and an immediate logout..so it is a HS bug.

you should get the first rested xp point pretty fast with the high numbers of xp you need for levels in the expansion

i remember getting multiple points of rested xp mere minutes after entering rest-places when i was high-ish level when i was still leveling to 60 in basic WoW

In fact, you should be able to watch it tick up in realtime (Just hover your mouse over the xp bar and it should state the rested xp)

Well, just to make sure, I put my HS in Shattrah.
HS... take portal to Orgrimmar... log out... next day HS back to Shattrah... and start having (rested) fun again. :grin:

Ditto, logged out of there tonight (without having seen this thread first) and immediately logged out. HS is set elsewhere.
