This was posted on my twink forums awhile ago....I lost it for about a month...but it was just bumped to the top. I thought this was hysterical....and their ability to keep with the RP theme of Pirates was outstanding. I'm not quite sure of what was going on....but alas...here it is.

Heh, this stuff is for real then? Made me chuckle anyways.

Yep. Apparently they all eat Savories until theyturn into pirates and go around doing world PVP, usually taking over the zeppelins and boats.
Kinda cool.

Hehe, reminds me of naughty children in class trying to save their face when I try to rebuke them. If they can form a front together, they act all tough. Got to admire the guts of these guys, though... "It would not be wise to spit on a GM" --> "You spit on Tellari. Koltas spits on Tellari. Galexious spits on Tellari. Slak spits on Tellari. Nebulis spits on Tellari. Arnie says: I spit where I please."

That GM had the godly patience turned on when dealing with that group. I don't know if I could've dealt with them so calmly.

Agreed. That GM is a Saint playing World of Warcraft in her off-time. But it was funny too and good on them for keeping on with the roleplaying. What server was that again?
is snowy gonna be condoning /spitting next time i'm out of line? Ummm... :p

I'm not too sure on the server....and from the GM's I've dealt with on the RP server we play on, they seem to be a little more lax than others. I ahve to imagine they can't get too mad when dealng with people that are saying "Scurvy" and " "Walk da plank"
A lot fo people were saying it was all made-up....because the GM is using /say and was targetable. I dunno...but I think its real.
GM can have a in-game character.

I think the GM was referring to NPCs, not players. The NPCs movement script wouldn't allow them to track/path back to the damage dealer correctly, so they were just running against a wall, if I interpretted that right.

oh ok, but still, it isn't them doing something wrong, but blizzard... they should make the AI of the NPC's better ;P
not allowed to nuke ppl from rooftop either :p

I think it should be allowed, it's just using strategy ;)

hehe yeah redridge ganking can be fun, if you're not the one who's getting ganked xD
see, a warlock lvl 22 can't do a whole damn lot against a 39 rogue ^^
even if you're getting ganked it's fun man, good ol' times... no one gank ppl anymore.

That strategy, as you call it, is actually an exploit. It's not really hard to out-strategize a lot of the AI in MMOs. The AI's strategy is "run the shortest path to the damage dealer, regardless of walls, water, or other uneven terrain". All your strategy consists of is "place an impassible object between myself and the mob, which will never try running another path to get to me", or in otherwords, up the stairs on the backside of the tower.
As you and everyone else knows about this flaw in the AI, it's an exploit, as stated in the TOS/EULA, not a strategy.
they should make the AI of the NPC's better
I'm sure Blizzard would be happy to take the AI scripts that you've been working on into consideration, if you think you could do it better. Otherwise, until they can get the AI scripts to follow the damage dealer logically (as a human would) you'll have to deal with this being an exploit.

If that's so, then why not make it unable to shoot anything from higher ground(like a tower or building), with an object in between?
It's not much work, and could solve the problem :)

the ai script for world objects does not seem to allow downward/unreachable shooting to take place anymore.
if you try to do this these days the mob will evade.

It's not his obligation to provide better code for Blizzard's game, especially for a game that he has to buy and then pay a monthly fee just to play.

The way I heard it <The Crew> had taken over the Grom Gol zepplin tower and were killing players from above. The guards couldn't reach them which is what upset the GM.
The GM then teleported and froze the whole lot of them out over the sea and had this little talk. When she was done with them she made them all swim back and they had to fight to retake the town.
funny funny stuff!
