I know i sound like a noob (hate that word too) but I never bought anything before with honor points i saw that the other day when my pointer turned into a bag outside Arathi Basin. so i checked it out and saw i could buy a couple things if i had 17 more medallions.
My question is, Is it worth it to buy some of the stuff? I can buy boots and a waist armour.
Second question which is stupid but how do you get the private and corporal in front of your name like Private Statler. I know my warrior who is only a 24 has it but my 34 pally doesn't and i have about 87 horde kills if that matters.

Is it worth it? Thats up to you. I peronsonally would save my honor for level 70. The more you pvp the more your rank will go up. Rank means nothing anymore though.

Ranks are part of the old PvP system. They're no longer utilized, but those who earned them before, got to keep them in the new system. Hence, why your warrior has a rank and your paladin doesn't, it's merely to show off really, or for rp purposes.

If you're really interested in the PvP gear, hold onto the Marks until you hit 70, and don't go buying the stuff at a low level. Reason being is it's much better at 70, and if you spend it now, you won't be able to spend them later, when you need them. The lower level stuff is WAY cheaper then the higher level stuff, and you still get 3 marks of honor for a win, and 1 mark of honor for a loss. It doesn't matter if you're level 20, or level 70.

I would recommend the exact opposite of folks here. Go ahead and buy the stuff you would like, its all very good gear for its level. And as it is said above its cheap compared to buying level 70 stuff. So to me its like saving silver at low level cause you need 1000 gold at level 60. Whatever you manage to get together as a lowbie you can make in a day or two at 60, and is not buying anything really worth that?
Edit: This basically goes for Honor, dunno if people are thinking of the tokens. But if they are I seriously dont get it. I worked up a 100 of AV and AB tokens very quickly as a 60, and had pages of them in the mail, because you get many more tokens than honor. So to advice newbies to save their tokens make even less sense to me.

If I can untangle this...
save your honor, not your tokens. By the time you earn the honor points required to buy a certain item, you will have 5 times as many marks as you need.
I think you can buy healing / mana pots with tokens at officers quarters in SW if you so desire....

Depends on what you want to do.
WSG, for example, has some awesome bracers to spare @ lvl 40 onwards.
It might well be worth your while to collect the 20 marks (and well over the 600-ish honour you need) and buy them, then continue on and repeat it again @ lvl 50 for a nice li'l 'free', or rather guaranteed, gear upgrade.
I've always felt that PvP makes one a better player in general too.
