I hit outland with 59 with my lock. E A S Y.

And you'll get 2x the XP in outlands vs azeroth, so you'll be 60 really fast. (without unrested xp even, with rested it'll be silly fast).

Skip 58 - 60 in azeroth and get to outlands ASAP.

That is, if you're power leveling. If you haven't seen the content in the 58-60 zones in Azeroth, go chcek them out. They're worth seeing.

If powerleveling- you should be running towards the portal when you ding 58.

Xp in Outland is almost too easy to get- and even if some of the quests/ mobs are difficult for you, you'd still get more XP if you grouped then if you solo'd in Azeroth (that, and most shouldn't be difficult for you).

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the mobs in Outland are somewhat weaker then those in Azeroth (at the same level).

If you can handle most of Western/ Eastern Plaguelands- you can EASILY handle starting Outland.

What are the best 58-60 zones in Azeroth? Plaguelands? Those look really cool in vids I've seen. I can't set foot in them right now, lol (46 mage).

My guess is that Blizz is trying to move the "fashion show" out of Org and Ironforge. Org is a ghost town on my server now and it is actually nice to visit there now without all the AFK Epic 60's sitting around.

dang i wish i had that much time, I'm only gaining a lvl every 2-3 days. why must i work?! *shakes fist angrily at sky* so at my current lvl of 44, it'll be some time still before I get out to outland. but i guess its good, I won't feel so behind as before the xpack came out. At most people will have a 2-3 month headstart as opposed to 2-3 years :P

Plaguelands, Winterspring, Silithus.. and a whole slew of instances and raids available.

Unfortunately for those just leveling to 60 now for the first time, most of you won't get the chance (or have much of a desire) to experience it like the rest of us did. There is just as much, if not more, 58-60 material in the original WoW as there is leading up to it.... but good luck finding groups now to go to most of it.

I wouldn't head to Outlands at 58. Lots of the mobs even in the starting areas are level 61-62 so it isn't ideal and if you're powerleveling I don't see your kill rate being too high. It's also extremely crowded. While the XP is nice, you'll have less competition and stress back in the regular zones in Azeroth.

Your other issue is that if you use Outlands quests to level, expect to have less to help you level post 60.

Rested, mobs in Outland give 1k xp. Mobs in Azeroth give 500.
Powerleveling usually ignores most quests.

You'd have to kill more then twice as fast in Azeroth to make up for the xp difference.

The quests follow the 2x more XP as well... so again, if you were to do the quests, you'd have to find and do twice as many. While there will be plenty of competition, I think it'd be worth it if you're in a rush to 70.

Actually normally I would agree with you, and this is certainly true in Azeroth. (I power leveled 1-60 in 7 days played, and did very little quests) But while just doing quests I've averaged around 87-96xp/hr which is not to shabby at all :) Plus the rewards are just to amazing to pass up :D

green "epic" quest rewards

They quickly get just about every class up to tier 1 status in the first 10 - 15 quests completed in outlands.

Definatly go to outland as soon as you ding 58. Grinding from 54-58 was hell and took forever on that bloody frozen lake in winterspring and I still have over 20 Icy Chill formulas. I went from 58-60 in 2 days (about 3-4 hours played per lvl.) Granted I am a BM hunter so leveling is easier then just about every other class but the quests give upwards of 9-10k exp a piece with loot that is better then anything sans T2-T3. Only drawbacks are the quests are easy and great spawn rates but they are very overcamped and it gets frustrating. Also you're not going to find any instance PUGs until you ding 60.

Also quests are mindlessly easy slaughter or collection quests.

Get to the Outlands. And before you leave, dump every quest from Azeroth that's still in your log and vendor every item in your bank that you thought you might use someday.
