If nothing else, I say build your own...or purchase from a builder. If you go
www.tigerdirect.com
www.zipzoomfly.com
www.newegg.com

they have really good computer deals (like $400) that are better than my high-end from 3 years ago....which runs wow fine.

Or, if you want to build your own, check out www.sharkyextreme.com go to their guides section, look up a computer guide from a few months ago, order the parts from the above mentioned sites, and put it all together.

OR take your computer to a geek, have him find out which parts you fried, and buy replacements.

The awesome dry wit of MV strikes

Regarding your comp if there is smoke it could be anything, but realistically you should be able to see the burn marks (big black aura) to locate what actually burnt.

If you can't find what burnt, the first thing you should look at is getting hold of a power supply and swapping that (these are the things that normally burn out first).

Alot eaiser / cheaper than getting a new rig.
