Hello, im downloading the 10 day trial because i realized today that DAoC dead, and everybody is playing WoW.
I have been looking at the different classes and druid definately seems like a lot of fun, (from what i have been reading its a very versatile class, witch will be a very nice change from all the straightforward classes i have played in other MMO's - that i all get bored with).
I do however have a couple questions,
1. Can Druid solo?
2. Are they wanted in a group?
3. How good are they at PVP ? (this is important to me, as what i enjoy the most in these kind of games is creating a uber powerful class, and basically gank people (people within the level limits ofcourse))?
Note: They dont have to be godlike in PvP, but i would prefer a class that isnt something everybody can rape. A class that can hold their own..
Oh and whats a nice PvE build?
I really aprisiate any help.

1 yes, pretty good actually
2 mostly, in tbc there pretty wanted as healer or tank.
3 changes with the nerfbat :) but with self healing, pretty dps and that dammed root, i hate em as a mage :)
Well When I played as a Druid I could not really solo that well, due to the fact that everyone wants you to Heal and Buff instead of using your Ferel abilities so my Druid is basically a healer and it got boring real quick. Try out a Mage, unless you want to constantly Heal and Buff for the next 70 levels.

now don't get me wrong, but my vision of solo always involved me doing everything by myself, which meant I didn't have to heal anyone else but me  Now If I was going to join a group for instances, yes, the 'can u heal' drag wore on (of course, it was worse with my priest...I gave up any hope of being able to use my nifty shadow skills)
But I think that a druid is versatile and does well in all 3 categories. I think the key is to understand that they won't really be the top in any specific category (except right now, where they seem to shine as a tank at the elite lvls). and I have also heard that they can be sorta slow until you hit the 20's for solo (though I've enjoyed mine so far, 18 and running strong :sunny: ) that and the ability to fit multiple roles means you probably wont be turned down for any instances, even if you do have to heal ( my rogue has been turned down many times  sry, already have DPS need healer...)
try it out...you may find you like a specific aspect of the druid (heal, tank, sneak) and try out one of the other classes that specialize in those roles

dont play WoW. even though they try, mix and change alot, the game is basicly balanced. good balanced. no way like Diablo2 or other games whit uber chars.
Whit every patch ( around every month ) they make changes in hope of better balance. Sometimes it is a mess, sometimes it is a nerf, sometimes a weak class got boosted too much and is now the uber class, but all in all, chances are pretty low that your char will be uber. At least not for long :P

Its not as much as the character being overpowered, its more about, lets say if you understand the weaknesses and the strong points of your character 100%, and have uber gear, if its able to hold its own in PvP.
Like in DAoC, i didnt have the insta-win PVP class, but i did manage to eventually get uber gear, great abilities, and basically being able to kill 99% of everything thats thrown at me (1vs1 that is), because i knew how to play my mercenary.

My 2 bits...
First... do you want to be the Good guys or the pretty guys.. er.. I mean Horde or alliance??
Ok, now that you have decided Horde is the only way to go (Or, you can go alliance if you must *snicker*)
Create 1 character of every class....
Start with the one that just sounds fun and excites you to play.. and play it.... when you get burned out or bored, try the next one... and so on and so forth... Eventually, you will work out which one is the "one" for you.. that you will stick to, play and level, and enjoy all the way to 70. Who knows? you might just get to 40, grab your mount and all of a sudden, decided you want to try class #6.. it CAN happen.
I personally feel that everyone should "test drive" each type of toon before deciding on who/what to play.. that way you get a "feel" for it and can make a more informed choice. I really feel you should run each one up to 20 before going to another choice (Unless the one your playing just REALLY does not feel right) as most classes "come into their own" about 20ish......

I have a druid.I say theyre pretty good.
heres a few reasons why i love them...
1.they can heal....you can heal yourself in the middle of a fight!!
2.lot of buffs...ppl didnt really ask me for much on my druid
3.entangling roots!!!!......an awesome spell! cast it and it holds them ther and does minimal damage....meanwhile your sittin back nailing them with the very powerful wrath and they cant hit you!
4.though they are powerful magic users they actually have very good health.....on my druid when i was lvl 20 i was killin stuff lvl 24 with that entangling roots, wrath combo!!
Druids the way to go!!:king:

well, if you are that far, you know the game well. that's more than 80% of the average player ever will achieve. Then you can be uber whit any class :)
but try the druid, he is very flexible. on the other hand, he HAS to be very flexible :) i'd say he is the biggest challenge to play in PvP.
