Hey guys,
I am thinking of starting to play WoW, but i got one question, since i want to play the new expansion TBC, i dont know if it will work if i havent got the WoW original game. Do you need the original WoW to play the TBC, or do you just need the TBC to be able to play.
And if you do need the original game, can you still play WoW, because i dont see the point buying two games and then able to only play one...
Thx for reading

Yes you need the original,
but the BC isnt like a new game, its just a bunch of features added, so its only one game.

This isn't like Starcraft or Warcraft III.
Think of the Expansion pack like a big content patch added onto the end of the game.
To get past level 60, play the new races, and get to Outlands, you need the X-Pack.
So yes, technically you can still play Original WoW, but the question is redundant.

Download the 10 day free trial and go from there, would be my suggestion. Thats what I did. As long as you are on the trial, not all features are activated, such as you are not able to trade with other players for example, but thats not a big issue in my opinion. Other stopper is that you can only level to 20. As soon as you activate your account properly, you will have full access to the game, besides the last expansion, called the Burning Crusades. To be able to access two more races and more areas, you will need to buy that one eventually.
I know I am a messy writer, but hope that cleared things a bit more for you.
Best regards
