I want to cancel my account for a couple of days and I will reactivate it after I buy a game card. If the visa is billed, my parents will know. Then I probably won't be able to touch the game again :undecided:

My question is, do I need credit card info when I reactivate my account? Because I don't want to ask them for the card info either.

No, you don't.
I used to pay via card payment & then changed to Gamecard when i came back after a few months away.
If you go to account management you should just be able to change payment method. As long as you do it before the next payment is due your parents card should not be charged.

if you cancel the account, your characters will be deleted. just add the game card, then shoot an e-mail to support@blizzard.com and tell them that you want to play using game cards now instead of your credit card. lets not even get in to the legality (seriously) of using your parents card w/o their permission. just tell them that you no longer wish to charge your acct. to the credit card on your account, you would like to play using game cards

Incorrect. There currently is no policy whatsoever with regards to character deletion of inactive accounts. This has to do with Blizzard wanting folks to come back, and having levelled characters waiting has proven to be an effective lure.

My account was cancelled in 2004 and I picked it up and started playing it again a little under a month ago. Everything was still there. Though it didn't show my toons as being there until I manually selected the server.

Dont cancel, just remove the billing info from the account. The account will go inactive at the end of the billing cycle because there is no valid payment method and will activate again when you enter the prepay card.

Bleh, but then you have to re-enter that info when you wanna re-activate WITH the same creditcard

I know, has nothing to do with the original post :)

You are soooo wrong....

Your toons remain for MONTHS after your account goes dormant.

Just cancel the subscription, and the account will go inactive. Add a gamecard later, and the account comes back. No requirement for a credit card.

Thanks man. I wish I could. When I quit playing my brain just deleted all my WoW knowledge which made jumping into my old character a little difficult. It would be like being born as a 30 year old or something I guess. Yeah you have the tools, but you dont know how to use them

I quit originally cause I was one of those who started playing at launch, played way too much everyday and after about a couple months just got so burned out I had to quit. I tried to do every quest, have high professions and took the game too seriously and it ruined the whole expirience. Now all my friends who have played for years all are to the point where they're just wanting to have fun with the game and dont care about the grind, so I thought I'd start up again.
