so i've learned something recently from experience: not all of these lv 70ish instance ARE NOT created equal. sure, that's plausible and makes sense, and it may be that i'm not grouping with the best people or ideal class combos, but by the same token it seems like a few of the boss fights are either gear checks or just plain pains.

i tried shadow labs yesterday and it was a pain. didn't make it past the 2nd boss after a bunch of whipes...even whiped multiple times on the first. granted, we only had one healer, but still...it seemed waaaay harder than black morass.

could anyone recommend some instances towards lv 70 that are a bit more doable in quest greens? shadow labs felt like one big gear check that i we failed. or...should i just group with some new people?

make sure you do the low level instances to gear up first...

mana tombs, sethekk halls, crypts, underbog ... hmmm caverns of time: durnhold ... that should give you enough items :)

then you can try your hand at shadow labs, steamvault, botanica maybe even arcatraz and mechnar

Oftentimes it isn't so much a gear check as a research check. QUite a few higher end bosses are 'gimmicky' in that there are tricks to defeating them, so some googling can be handy. Sometimes its a matter of where you fight them, sometimes a matter of clearing the right stuff first, and sometimes its knowing what to do when.

That said, the easiest and most fun Shadow Lab run I've been on had a serious tanking pally as MT and lots of AoE. Went fast and fun, and Murmur dropped a +130 spell damage sword that was yummy. Party makeup was: prot pally, holy priest, frost mage (me), arcane mage, imp sap rogue.
