Flying mount tips and secrets

Started this thread because I have the flying mount... and most of the places I've been so far are pretty boring... anyone found any interesting places on their flying mount?

My experience:

- I've sat on top of the crystal in Nagrand,
- quests in netherstorm are so easy with a flying mount... the aldor chain tablets of b'aal where you have to kill the final guy - he sits on an outcrop high up with all the guards inside... you can just drop down and knock him out without having to fight through the 30 guards...

Any other hints, tricks, secrets?

Herb/mine Farming is pretty easy... fly about looking for dots in the minimap, land and farm.

There are a couple of areas which are only accessible via a flying mount and have higher level elementals. These 70+ elementals always drop 1-3 motes a piece. My wife likes farming north of the crown of elements in nagrand. There's a bird city near the allerian stronghold (once agian up high) with water elementals near it.

Generally getting around some of the more annoying areas like Blades edge and Netherstorm is trivial now... if not a bit slow =]

Oh and we can't forget... don't take falling damage when going to Shadow Labyrinth any more =]

Three more levels and I'll be one of the flyers. Well, two and a half, technically, since I'm more than 50% into 67. Hopefully by the end of next week I'll be tooling around in the air.

Fly while drunk... it's way fun.

If your alliance, goto the Allerian stronghold. Near the forge there is a guy standing next to a big barrel. Right click the barrel and you'll get 5 bottles of strong booze. Down all those, mount up and have fun =]

Any strong booze will do, thats just free =]

if you fly north-east of thrallmar you will find the .. dun dun dun .. throne of kil'jaeden.. really eerie place.

I like to fly over Shadowmoon Valley and all those Invasion places that you only seem to be able to reach by mount. Has a real Mordor / Armies marching from Minas Morgul feeling.

Other than that it is the feeling of finishing a quest/gring, zoom up into the air and head straight home. Even if it is technically slower than a FP-windrider, it really is faster :)

Being a pet-class, attacking mobs from above is a bit more difficult, I need my demon first. And I never got 3 motes from an 70 (71) elemental. 2 is max..but I also fish in Pure water wich is great for motes of water :)

There's a flying chunk of land over/near Garadar/Throne of Elements, where there's an apple tree with a basket and apples on the ground. A skeleton is sitting on the ground leaning agains the tree with an axe stuck in his forehead. Anyone know if this is a reference to something?

yeah, its a reference to isaac newton - he couldnt handle so many floating masses of islands like that, as its in direct contradiction to gravity :P

That is near southern ramparts / void fields. You collect 10 voidwalker essences for the crash survivors from the Zeppelin and I am in one of the clouds that spawn the Voidwalkers....

Found that out by accident really, cat was walking over my keyboard when I first saw it, took me 30 min afterwards to find out which key she stood on :p
