I read that if you rest you can get up to 200% more XP when you kill a monster. I rarley play and this would help me since I my buddies are out leveling me. How can I do this? Anything I have to activate or any type I got to put in?

Thanks guy!

When you go in an inn(or have ZZZ's above your head) every 8 hours you're logged out there you get 1 bar (5%) of doubled experience.

When you're not 'resting' you get 1 bar every 24 hours.
[I think]
Can someone confirm that?

To the OP, it's not 200% more xp, it's 200% of normal xp which is double xp, not triple.

So basically, if your character goes exactly 24 hours logged out of WoW in an inn or major city, for the next 3 xp bars (out of 20 that make each level), any mobs you kill will yield double xp until the rest state is expired.

It's not easy to describe, but next time, take a look at your xp bar, you will notice your rest bar (unless it has gone into the next level!).

This double xp only applies to mob killing though. You won't get more xp for quests or anything. ANy xp you get from quests will push your xp bar back by whatever amount of xp you got from handing the quest. It does not eat into your rest bar.

I found that aGunitframes mod makes this a lot more obvious. I have a horde character that I am probably just going to play once a week with my girlfriend and a friend... I logged in last night (having logged out in an inn about a week ago) to say I had something like 13200 rested XP (at level 11). Double XP for a level and a half was really useful and I went up nearly 2 levels in about 2 and a half hours just questing. It does make it a bit easier to play casually and still see some progression.

To the OP, look at your XP bar at the bottom of the screen... if it's blue rather than purple you are getting double XP. When your rested XP runs out it will turn purple and you get a message "you feel normal". Best way to get it is to make sure every time you finish for the day/night - find the nearest inn and log out there.

Or city. All cities are considered rest areas, so you can logout in any part of a major city (Orgrimmar, Undercity, Thunder Bluff, <BE??>, The Exodar, Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus).

Ah ta - that'll shave off a few mins having to run around IF looking for the tavern. My stumpy little legs don't move that fast neither.

Ok, so when I exit game do it at a inn or city? Or do I have to "log out" at a inn or city? I can turn my computer off right?

I know its a stupid question.

Aye  Logout or /exit in an inn or a city... turn off your PC etc etc, you'll get rested XP accruing.

You can get a maximum of 30 bubble of rest state, which equates to 1.5 levels...a mighty nice bonus for those who only play once a week or so.

When your Exp bar is blue, look to the right on the bar, and you'll see a little arrow-type indicator. That is the point where you go back to normal. Quest Exp doesn't count toward that level, it just bumps it out further. If you've been off awhile, the indicator may be into your next level, so you won't see it until you ding.

Am I imagining it, or does rest state build up a lot more slowly than it used to, pre-2xx?

I know it's a long time since I had to level any toons, so I could be mistaken..
