This was a reply
someone said "I'd prefer to play Runescape out of the two, actually, because with WoW you have to pay 15$ per month for half-asš graphics."

WoW has "half ass graphics"!!!!!

First off, you are right about Runescape's graphics being below mediocre. But that's not really whey I dislike Runescape. It's simply that I find the controls cumbersome and the content dull. :-/

Second, why on earth go to a Runescape forum and diss Runescape? Not only is that a n00bish thing to do, but also rather rude. You'd certainly get your gall burning if someone showed up on this forum dissing WOW.
No, if you don't like it then stay away and let the people that DO like it alone. Less grief that way...

Interesting that Runescape is listed as a copy of World of Warcraft. It preceded World of Warcraft by a bit, didn't it?

Runescape entertained me for a while, but then I got Guild Wars. Blew RS right out of the water.

The, 2 weeks later I got WoW. Haven't played GW since. ^^

January 4th, 2001 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RuneScape) was the first incarnation of Runescape. I happened to have tinkered around with that one myself at the time. Didn't hold my attention really.

I used to play RS until my friend Chris let me borrow WoW, almost forgot what RS was and the only time I ever played Rs was at school inInfo Systems when I was bored. WoW is so much better than RS and another friend of mine wouldn't accept this until I had him play it himself.

I laugh at the unenlightened.

Played RunEscape (not a typo) for just over 5 years and I had still not managed to get anywhere near the top gear or level. I know I'm a bit lazy and half-assed when it comes to games, but in 4 - 5 months of having fun in WoW I already have a level 48 rogue, 19 rogue twink and have made (and deleted) various other characters.

RunEscape was indeed introduced to the public before WoW, and I have to say I prefer WoW. I tried playing RunEscape when I was bored at work (only good thing about RS, is you can play it anywhere with a browser and Java) and it was so horrible I had to log off. 2 months later I gave away my character to an old school friend.

I had the most expensive amour in in RS in 3 months(dragon was the best then) and I only got to lvl 88:grin:

Anyways of course WoW has better graphics and gameplay, but RS could easily bump up there stuff, but in doing that it would need to stop being a browser based game(think I worded that right) which would mean alot of people couldn't play it at schools(well some schools got it blocked) and at Library's, etc....

anyways nowadays I like WoW alot better the RS, but in 2001 I loved RS.

I was about to say something about this. Isn't it obvious that these people haven't played WoW! However, Runescape probably is the best Web-Browser game you will ever find.

RS is not a copy of WoW at all. Its different and came out first. So it would be vice versa if at all. As for the graphics, well you have to keep in mind it's free. They cant afford to have incredible graphics with a little income. But considering its free, I love Runescape.

I played RS for a while and it really entertained me. I had a bad taste for MMOs after playing GW and COV so I was hostile to branching off and trying any other MMO other than RS for a while. I still like WoW a lot better than RS, but I do like the emphasis on the crafting system in that game.

Yeah I agree with Gen's crafting system remark. Another thing I find really cool about Runescape is that you dont have to play one class like WoW. You can be all of them! I remember I would have a battle axe and a shield and be killing to raise my attack and defence level then I could grab my runes and magic equipment and go level my magic skill. It's really fun cause you can do everything. All the professions and classes in one.

I never could really get into Runescape for more then about a month. And whoever thinks that the graphics of Runescape are better then WoW's need to have their brain looked at.

I'm not saying that Runescape is bad, in fact I liked it when I played it, but it pales in comparison to WoW.
