Anyone know how to increase the memory for mod usage?

Yea, on the Add-ons page (Character screen bottom left button) there is a thing in the top right corner that says 48 MB. Chance the 48 to 75 or whatever and you should be fine.

You seriously need more than 48mb for addons?

I use 72Mb for addons although the mem usage reported in game rarely goes above 60Mb

Must be just me minimising then. My XP uses less than 60MB while operating, seems a huge amount just for UI modification.

It is a huge amount! I just never seem to have time to winnow through it all and find low mem alternatives

How do you see the memory usage within game? I assume we are talking about addon usage.

Window the game and look at it in Task Manager is the inbuilt Windows way of looking to see where memory is devoted.

Seems so, i was running the auctioneer add on while makeing changes to the benecast addon. I got error msg saying i was using up more than 48Mb and it shut down WoW.

I got it frequently with Auctioneer if there were more than 100 pages after my Auctioneer Data File hit 20% full. It would sit at that warning for a minute or so and then shutdown the game.
Made me very paranoid because I'd come back from making a sandwich while my scan was running and WoW would be closed. No virusses. No malware. Nothing I could find and believe me I searched. Even changed my passwords everytime it happened.
Yes. I know. Anyway, nothing serious. As Stigg indicated - simply bump up the memory that mods are allowed to use.

Change 48 to 0. WoW will automatically adjust to amount of memory needed. I've been running with mine set to 0 to months now... end of all my memory problems with addons :)
