This is for all the British Citizens that post on this board:

The British goverment are trying to making photography in public places a crime, in
an attempt to shop peados and the pap!!

If the bill is passed then you will have to apply for a special lience to
take photographs in public, no matter who you are and what your taking
pictures of!!

So sign the petition whether you take photos or not. It a stupid
idea. It's a little tedious, you have to follow a link from an email the
send you, but it's worth it!!

It's interesting. I've done a quick Google to try and find out what exactly the government is proposing (Not a UK citizen, but a member of the Commonwealth) and I can't seem to find anything.

There is some talk of a ban on camera phones in certain circumstances to prevent the upskirt/voyeuristic photographers from taking inappropriate pictures of people who have not consented to it - but that dates back to 2003.

The author of the petition has some details on his site - but that didn't seem to indicate any specific Bill or Legislative changes. Do you have a link to what is actually being suggested / proposed?
