why wont it work?

this is what i have on my computer and every time i play wow the sound is super messed up and glitchy. anyone know what i need? Thanks.

NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE graphics
1024 RAM
64x2 duel-core processor 3800+

i wrote HP they told me that it should work :/

The Geforce 6150 LE is very weak. Weaker than most Geforce 4 type cards, which were the minmum for WoW. While it is a six series, it's an absolutely pathetic, low end addition.

It would explain stuttering, pausing, and sound breaking up while waiting for graphics rendering to do it's job.

Tell us about your motherboard. Can't pick out a replacement card without knowing what slots you have available.

its a slimeline, you cant replace anything in it cuz its made of laptop parts, but we are getting a new computer.

That's a pity, it's got a good processor and plenty of ram. If it weren't for the videocard, it would run with ease.

If you do go down the road of constucting a new one, may I recommend you hand build it, make it yourself in an ordinary ATX case with standard sized parts?

You may or may not have done this, but update your sound drivers. I had the same problem and it turned out to be a driver issue. Now if WoW never had sound that worked, then yes, a new computer is the way to go. Upgrading laptops is harder than a desktop, since everything is integrated.

I believe there is an option to configure the sound to use hardware or software. You might try toggling that if you can.

is it possible to upgrade even though its a slimline? cause i contacted HP and they told me i cant replace anything in it..dunno if that has to do with upgrading though.

WoW will work if i goto the WTF folder and at the end of the doc type: SET SoundOutputSystem "2"
