Sorry everyone, another newb question...

My female elf warrior runs so slow! Should I be feeding her regularily or something, or is there some skill that I just haven't figured out yet? I keep seeing other players just zoom by me and I definitely can't seem to outrun anything, not even creatures below my level.

If I recall properly, it's a pixelated optical illusion. Minus any speed upgrades other players (of your level) may have, you're actually running at the same speed.

Yes, its like a Gnome looks (when u control it) to run very fast and a Tauren in the other hand seems t run very slow.

Hit /

Right next to NumLock.

It toggles walk/run

There are some skills which make other classes run faster, so you may be getting outrun by some. Just don't compare leg speed, since you have longer legs than most.

So when other players run past me at the speed of light in comparison, it's just an illusion?:undecided: What do you mean by speed upgrades? Are they legally available for level 11 warrior elves?

Thanks for the running tip but I already had checked that in my interface options.

I haven't played hunter, but I believe you get 'Aspect of the ?something?' that makes you run faster, and my druid gets feral swiftness for a 20% increase in speed, and 40% increase with travel form. So I would be the one leaving you in the dust under those circumstances.

I'm not sure about other speed bonuses besides those.

There are quite a few speed upgrades that are available and perfectly legal, though I'm not sure what level they're attainable at. There is a runspeed thread >>>here<<< (http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=379680).

What they are trying to say about appearances is...

If you have a player that is 1 inch tall that moves at the same speed of a player that is 10 feet tall, the little guys legs are going to be going a mile a minute and he will look like he is speedign to keep up with the giant walking next to him.

Level 11 warriors have nothing (besides enchants) that will allow them to move faster (except charge and intercept...but those are combat moves....)

Thanks everyone, now I know what to start saving my coppers up for, then I can just run when I get myself into trouble ... instead of having to visit each and every graveyard.

Make sure you're not walking. Hit the / next to the numlock key on the numpad. If you start going slower, then you were indeed running. So hit it again and you'll start running.

A few things that make people go faster:
Enchanters can add a run speed upgrade to foot armor.
Rogues have an ability called sprint which makes them run at the speed of a regular mount for about 15 seconds.
Hunters have an ability that increases their speed by 30% constantly as long as it's active.
Shamans and Druids have a form that allows them to move 40% faster.
There's also mounts.

And there might a be a few things also.

Also, even good run speed will not get you out of all trouble. A lot of the mobs have stun, or other things that will slow you down when you start to run away. They do help when you just want to run through an area and get past everyone there.

ALL Mobs (NPCs and Guards included in this) can Daze you, reducing your speed by 50% for 4 seconds if they hit you from behind. It's pretty cheap, but what the heck.

I didn't know they all could daze you, but it explains the trouble I've had when I'm trying to flee in fear...lol.
