View Full Version : Head slot enchant / ZG at lvl 70?

I'm trying to figure out if there's a BC level enchant for head slot items.
Aldor/Scryer enchants have the shoulder slot covered, and tailors can create Spellthread for pants - but I've yet to find a new head slot enchant. Is there an enchant available from some faction somewhere, or could it in fact be worthwhile to farm ZG for the tokens needed for the Zandalar enchant?
Any idea how many lvl 70 players it would take to drop Mandokir in ZG? I'm thinking somewhere around 10, but I'm sure somebody could do it with less.

Sorry about the double post, but answering my own question ftw:
I just found out about this enchant
Glyph of Power
Binds when picked up
Requires Level 70
Requires The Sha'tar - Revered
Use: Permanently adds up to 22 spell damage and healing and 14 spell hit rating to a head slot item. Does not stack with other enchantments for the selected equipment slot.
Charges: 1 (Expendable)
4 sec cast
Sells for 25 Gold to vendors
Item Level 70
Source: Vendor
I guess there's a lot of Tempest Keep in my future.. I'd still like any comments you might have on ZG at lvl 70, though.

I still have the ZG enchant item waiting in the bank... I got it on my last ever run there before the expansion hit, and I can't decide whether there'll be something better at 70 or whether I should save it for a nice lvl 70 epic in a few months time...

Mandokir? The "I'm watching you" guy? If it's the one that I am thinking of, with the raptor, then I am guessing that five well-geared 70s would kick his donkey back into the Victorian era. He doesn't hit any harder than the two-headed ogre in Shattered Halls, and his aggro/charging behaivior is slightly more predictable, after all. His health would soon start to plummet with some of the scary DPS that 70s kick out..
Now Jin'do the Haxx0r on the other hand, could be potentially irritating, but Mandokir is probably peachy. He didn't one-shot my priest at lv 60 if I missed a watch, I doubt he could one-shot most classes at 70. It would be useful to have an OT in the partly, but I would be really shocked if people in high level Outlands blues couldn't kill him, provided they work as a team and know their stuff.

/agree.
You'd probably need to kill the raptor first and put up with Mandokir's increased dps, since otherwise you're tying up two party members just to look after the raptor. But I'd think that well-geared lvl 70s could probably deal with that.
Jin'do..... it'd be interesting to try him 5-man. Probably a no-no... by the time one person is frogged, one is MCed, one is trying to kill shades... a "sod the shades, nuke him" approach might work, but I don't think 5 people would have the firepower.

Meh, Mandokir would take ages killing our tank- always amazed how long he lives, even if the priest unexpectedly buys the farm. He never had any trouble tanking him with the raptor down at 60, I am sure he would just laugh at 70. To be honest, a hunter pet with growl 8 could probably look after the raptor- thinking about my pet piggy with 11.2k armor, it would be fun to try :)
I think you're pretty much on the money with Jin'do, though with a warrior, priest, frost mage, fire mage, hunter group, it could be doable. Always assuming that they have good gear of course... It would be pretty annoying though, would feel like fighting hundreds of Liliputians..

Aye, well-geared groups used to kill the raptor first -although I believe this got considerably harder in 1.12. My group was about to try this, being by this point mostly in Tier 1 or therabouts, when we stopped ZGing...
I'd have doubts about the piggy by himself though - remember the raptor has a stacking sunder, so after a couple of minutes that 11.2k armour would be reduced somewhat... I think the minimum would probably be two paladins - they can swap aggro and each can heal the other while waiting for the sunders to expire. But with only 5 people... just kill it. Or take two tanky pets :-)

Fun to try, but.... I think there would be trouble with the shades. They will all go for the one healer, rather than being spread around, so that healer will be getting constantly interrupted. Maybe with anti-interruption talents and a Concentration Aura, and just ignore the shades (never actually verified that this works)... plus, assuming that Jindo is immune to freezes, traps, etc., then as soon as the warrior is frogged / MCed / teleported, everything's gonna go a little crazy :-) (I guess a piggy would help, but still...)

After a couple of minutes, the fight would be over. Even our frost mages can pull 1k dps.

You're not making it sound any less attractive by putting it that way, you know :)
Piggy has held onto various outlands boss mobs while the tank has been distracted (fears etc) before, so it's not too bad- charge stun and growl 8 seems to be pretty nifty for rapid hate generation. He's also tanked a few of the end bosses of the lower level outlands instances without any deaths- though needs a good healer. Not bad for an MMer's pet.. I guess you'd need to be really quick on the totems though- an MCed warrior gets a major buff while "under the influence", and even a prot spec can really hurt.
Bah, I thought it was too hard/tedious, but now you've started breaking it down like that, it sounds kinda interesting, damn you :)

What's the new "troll" instances coming?
Zul'Amen or something? I'd bet good money that it'll have a ZG enchant upgrade inside of it.

I agree... Bloodlord would be trivial at 70... tank could easily tank both the raptor and bloodlord at once. 5 man group should easily take him down. I'd be curious if vampiric embrace and renew would be enough to keep the tank up against Jindo at level 70 making the interrupts a moot point as well... the main issue as it always is with Jindo is making sure the totems god down Asap.

you forgot that the raptor will reduce your armor to 0

back on topic though, the Sha'tar enchant is clearly better than the ZG one. Except for the challenge, there is absolutely no point whatsoever to go back to ZG.
Better start farming Sha'tar reputation :)

No point at all, but damn if swaldman didn't make it sound entertaining.. :)

There are probably other head enchants. Well, there definitely is at least one other, at Revered with Cenarion Expedition, there's the "Glyph of Ferocity" if I remember the name correctly, which is +34 AP and +16 Hit, obviously aimed at different classes than the Sha'tar one.
