Title screen music

Is it possible to change the title screen music?

to my knowledge, nope.

I assumed all the game music was in common.mpq. I found a program capable of editing it.
I switched the names of "Sound\Music\GlueScreenMusic\wow_main_theme.mp3" and "Sound\Music\GlueScreenMusic\BC_main_theme.mp3", in order to change the title screen music back to the original.
And it worked.

If the general music is off it will be on the title as well.

You might want to check what blizz's opinion on messing with game files is, knowing them i would guess its instant banning:rolleyes: .

so what u have to do is change the name of ur song that u want to hear wow_main_theme.mp3 and put it in that folder? Because the same thing on CS u change the name and it worked.

Why do you want to? Are you really going to sit there for minutes at a time?

And BTW: Sheepe was right, editing game files is an instant ban with NO chance of an un-ban.

I like the original title screen music better than the expansion's.
Since I hear the title screen music often, I thought I might as well hear the version I like.

I'm sure it's possible for this change in my common.mpq to be detected but it's probably outside of practical limits. If it does check specific files, it probably checks more important ones that music.

I don't think this is worth the possibilty of perhaps getting Banned, or worse, totally ****ing up the game...
You're going to be digging into the guts of the game's files on your computer, and you never know what you could accidently damage while fiddling around, especially if you don't fully know what you're doing. It's just too risky.

Besides, you're on the title screen for what, 30 seconds as you log in and then click on your toon? So it's not really a big deal. I wouldn't recomend it.

I wouldn't go as far as importing edited files, but renaming something is pretty easy and straightforward. I'm not having any problems with the edit, I didn't get banned or anything.

You need a program that can open it. I found MyWarCraftStudio (http://www.wowmodelviewer.org/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=35&func=fileinfo&id=12), which works pretty well.
It's very easy to use. Open up common.mpq and find the title screen music, which is in Sound\Music\GlueScreenMusic\ as mentioned earlier.
Select it, right click, extract.
