So my BE alt just hit 33, and I decided it was time to start running SM.

However, I cannot for the life of me find a group using the LFG system, I get one, maybe two people, but that's really about it.

I know most people are using their guilds to find groups, but my last guild was pathetic, so I just recetly /gquit.

So, aside from guildies, how are the rest of you finding any groups?
Any hints?

Spam /1 General and use LFG

I have seen people spam /2 trade too and others simply camp outside the meeting stone. Whilst I wouldn't camp meeting stones normally I would think that with SM it is worthwhile doing...you shouldnt have to wait long. It is popular instance and in my view one of the "unmissable".

just sit outside meeting stone tends to work really well...what server are you on?

I have found its easier to avoid everything pre-bc. if you get invited into a group accept the offer but dont go around pugging yourself.

Makes levelling easier, by far.

And if you dont have a 60+ friend that will take an hour to loso you throught sm then you need to flirt more =P

Sm cath can be done in about 45 minutes with a druid/warrio/paladin at 60, so with all the 60+ toons running around you should be able to get a boost.

If i want xp i go quest and dont do instances.

Above post is all loxa's opinion and should be treated as such(just an opinion).

I don't know, I am levelling a shammy and haven't had trouble finding groups. I used the LFG tool a couple of times, but mostly I just get on with my questing plan and let it be a case of "In Soviet Russia, group finds you".

Despite the fact that my shammy is geared and specced for DPS rather than healing, and I refuse the main healer role (and certain group makeups, I am very picky like that), I haven't had to worry at all. I get plenty of invitations from people that I have done runs with before, who I know can be trusted, and sometimes even respond to the odd random whisper- if they're polite and not wholly txtspk.

Just make sure that you pick up all the quests that you can for your level-appropriate instances, and carry on with your questing. The odd instance breaks up the monotony of your levelling plan.

I generally try and avoid running more than a couple of instances per day, but it's very easy XP- if the group isn't too horrible. If it is horrible, and doesn't behave properly (after some gentle reminders), there's no reason to stick with it.
