Ok, just curious if anyone knows how the availability of these items stack up:
Nightseye - i've only seen/heard of them dropping, can they be transmuted?
Earthstorm - I can transmute this as an alchemist, but does it drop as well?
Skyfury - again, i can transmute, but does it drop?
I haven't seen nightseye transmuted, only drops so far. i would assume that would make it the hardest to get/most expensive to buy if they can't be transmuted. Does anyone know if this is this correct?
Also, have any alchemists with transmute spec seen multiple earthstorm/skyfury diamonds proc? Or is it really only for primal mights & primal to primal transmutes?

Nightseye are uncut gems. Jewelcrafters can cut them.
Earthstorm and Skyfury are transmutes. They take a certain amounts of primals. Alc's transmute them and have a 2d timer.
I believe a transmute master can proc on any type of transmute. I don't know though because my alc is 55... another 12 levels before he can choose a mastery.

To my knowledge:
a) The Earthstorm and Skyfire Diamonds can drop from high-end veins, or did sometime in Beta. Rare rare rare, though. Transmutes are the easy way to get them.
b) No transmute for Nightseye that I'm aware of, although one could always be hiding out in the transmute Discovery area. Chances are low though - the transmutes discovered so far are all Primal shifting.
c) Procs for transmute mastery can occur off of any transmute. That includes the Diamonds. TBH, I haven't seen one myself, but only because I'm not at mastery levels yet. The limiter is of course the timer - if you're trying to proc diamonds, you're sure as hell going to be waiting around longer.

All Primals, including Might, are on the 24 hour timer. Diamonds are on the 48, just like Arcanite was.

Yeah, I was refering to the diamond transmutes being 2d, the rest are indeed 1d (Except for heart of fire to elemental fire being 10m). All transmutes unfortunately share the same cooldown.

You are more likely to get nightseye and other rare gems by prospecting from adamantite ore.

Does Prospecting Ore work like the way Disenchanting used to? i.e. Can I make a low level alt just to get prospecting and send all my ore from copper up to Admantite to prospect?

Roughly (at least, this pattern has held for up to Iron for me), you need the same amount of Jewelcrafting skill to prospect, as it takes to mine the ore. 125 Mining to mine Iron, 125 JC to prospect. 325 to mine adamantite, 325 to prospect. Or so I think. *shrug*
Either way, yeah, the sharding alt ain't gonna work.
