Well I got a few questions , but first a dig at the official forum.. WHY do i have to make a toon before I can post there ???? I want to get some info before I create a char , but I cant ask any question before I create a char.. not good !!!

Well here we go :

first of can I respec a char if I mess him up spec wise ???

anywhere where I can find a totaly newbe guid , with all the relevant info , what to click to walk and so ( ofc I bought a wrong box and got a box with a gamecard instead of a basic box , so i had to download the client before I could install TBC ( and ofcourse the TBC box does NOT include a newbe guide ) so I basicly know NOTHING

Ahhh well some guy posted about the cost of repsecs , whilst I was typing up my post , so that takes care of that question :)

I may be missunderstanding here, but it appears that you have bought TBC.

If that is tha case, you will have to buy the original WOW game as well as TBC requires the original to be installed first. If you bought an gamecard instead of the original WOW just installing the client is not enough, You need to buy a key (usually contained within retail game box, but I think you can buy them online) before you can create an account.

I would concentrate on getting up and running before worrying about guides as the game is fairly straightforward to learn.

To address the first question...you need a toon before you post so that the forums don't get over-run with spam from players who don't even have the game, or don't play anymore.

Come to ask your questions here...we are about 1000000 times better than the official forums.

As far as a "newby" gude goes, if youhave ever played any computer games with a first person expereince, WoW will be easy to learn and easy to master.

WASDQE or up, left, right, down to move, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. (or clicking) to cast spells, and the right click mouse button to interact.

Its a really simple game and you will learn a lot by just going into the world.

Make sure you read the tips that come up on the loading screen. I still learn stuff there. On that note, is there a place in the interface or somewhere that you can just scroll through the start-up tips? That could really be useful for a newbie.

This newcomer forum is a great resource for a new player. I suggest you invest a couple hours going back through this forum, browsing every thread. You will learn an amazing amount of information.

QFT! It's been a long time since I've been on the official forums but I don't recall ever having left the forums with anything less than a sour taste in my mouth...

Wands and staves are two different objects. Staves are 2H weapons. iirc not all casting classes (or races possibly) start with the proficiency for staves. To learn this you need to find the appropriate trainer...in one of the 3 major cities of your faction. Find a guard and ask him for the weapons master. He will put a flag on your map (press M). Go there. He will either be able to teach you how to use it for a nominal fee or tell you the location of where you can learn it.

A wand (which if you are a mage/lock/priest you should already have the proficiency for) is placed the third box on the bottom of your character screen (press C). To USE it, press P and look for the "Shoot" icon. Place that on your action bar and press it when you want to use your wand. It is a ranged attack, so you can even use it if you are a short distance away!

Well making a undead priest atm , not realy into pure melee classes , allways player hybrids in daoc and mage types in UO , only melee toon I ever enjoyed was savages in daoc with there duel wield grieves , and the abillity to tripple and quad hit :)

it would be worth your while to figure out a way around your danish keyboard's lack of "/". This key is used for all emotes and though not at all necessary to gameplay, emotes make the game more immersive and hence more fun

trust me its a pain , in UO i have to use an alt+92 combo to use guild chat... but the abillity to bind ( and record with a push of a button ) 3x 18 macroes is realy nice :)

BTW why the H... cant we have last names in WoW ????

I want to use the same names I use in UO and daoc :(

Another reason to find a way around lack of / is, that you change chats by typing for example /1 for general, /2 for trade, /p for party, /g for guild and so on.

"Dane here", danish keyboards got / (see, just made one with my keyboard)
shift+7, does the trick well, some numerical keyboards has it as well, you just need to hit enter first to enter the chat, before using /, thats the trick.
Is it even possible to write /wave, without entering the chat, and get it to work?

just reasigned the key to numeric / problem solved ;)

problem was not a danish keyboard , but an american keyboard with danish setup ;)
