I went to my friends in another town for the weekend. This is where I was into'd to wow for the first time, he gave me his disks to take home, because he could see I was instantly in love. I got home and loaded the disks exitement in my eyes. As the 5th and final disk got done, I jumped in sheer glee, and clicked the PLAY WOW button. The screen turned black and my anticipation peaked, then in one swoop it was all taken away from me. A message appeared on my screen that said, "Please install a 3D accelerator card with dual-TMU support." I was nearly in tears, so I tried again and again, but all for naught. It seems I don't have a supported graphics card, but thats the extent of my knowledge. I have a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion 750c with a Nvidea TNT (unsupported by wow). I am running windows xp/200, and need to know what kind of graphics card I should get, along with where I can find it for a decent price. I would apperciate your help so I can join the online sensation.

Well...I am sure some of our tech-nerds will be along shortly to assist you...but in the meantime...

You also need to buy a cd key in order to play....so even if you didn't get that error, you were still gonna cry.

And, if you live in the US or play on a US or Oceanic realm, you will need a valid Credit Card.

(Unless you had a 10 day trial!)

I did have a ten day trial, and whats a cd key, cause can't you just download the entire wow game online, defeating the purpose of not allowing cd sharing?

You need the CD key to create your account / make a trial account permanent. That's like your license to play the game. You get one with the boxed set when you buy the game, but if you're simply using somebody else's CDs to install you will need to purchase a key from an authorized retailer. (I believe only Blizzard sells those online without the boxed set)

As to a graphics card, I'll leave that to Kalos. NewEgg would probably be the site to check for them, but he's in a better position to advise what would work with your system. If you know anything about the specs of that HP though it would help him if you posted those details (Bus type - AGP / PCI-E, etc.) and what rough price range you have in mind.

I am thinking below 100 dollars, I'm in HS and live in a city, so my money goes to gas, and I have no idea what those things you wanted me to specify are....

Did a bit of research for ya.

Graphics connector (AGP) AGP 4x
Expansion slots (AGP/PCI/Exten) 1 AGP, 3 PCI + Exten

Take a look at this list:

also... even with the guest pass you still need a credit card for verification. Or go to your games store and pick up a timecard (30 bucks will get you two months)

2. Thou Shalt Not Spam or Engage in Posting Wars. Post it once, and post it nice, and please don't ever post it twice. (There's a song there somewhere.) Pick a forum, pick a message, and that's that. Don't post in every forum with the same message. If it's a general post, use one of our general forums. If it's specific to a class… well.. you follow the drift.
