Safe to delete everything in WTF?

Since I installed my first addon, characters have come and gone. Unfortunately, some of my addons are still referencing long deleted characters. Like, I'll mine some tin from a vein, and one addon will tell me the Tin can be used by another character that hasn't existed in three months.

I'm thinking of starting fresh and letting all the files build up again, now that I'm set in my server.

So my question is, is it safe to delete everything in the WTF\Account\<<Name>>\SavedVariables folder and let the addons rebuild their files? Is it also safe to delete the two Blizzard files I see, Blizzard_AuctionUI and Blizzard_TrainerUI? And finally, will this reset all the addon settings, or will I have to clear the Interface\AddOns folder and re-extract everything again?

I'm aware I'll lose any configurations, saved info, action bar settings, etc., but I'd like to start fresh anyway.

You can safely delete all of the savedvariables for your addons and make them reset themselves (Except for Bongos which is apparently resistent to change as AI have deleted my profile and variables without it resetting itself)

I also think the BlizzardUI's will recreate themselves as well.

You shouldn't have to wipe your addons folder though...

But if I wipe the addons folder, and therefore get rid of Bongos (which I do use), wouldn't that force the addon to reset itself? What else would it be referencing to keep the current settings?



Edit: Also, by deleting the addons folder I can get rid of addons I found useless or pointless to me, which I've never bothered deleting. Everything I have running I have favorited at this site, so it's easy to find it and re-download. And it's a Wednesday night; nothing better to do anyway. :smiley:

You can safely delete your Addons and WTF folder and this will reset your interface to the default client. Then you can start adding mods again.

yup and youll also get to watch the intro again with out having to go into movies, but you'll also have to re-do ALL you Interface, Video, Sound etc options lol and IF that dosnt work then next step is, Ininstall (MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP YOU PATCHES!!!!!!) delete all that remains of WoW, (EXCEPT THE PATCHES!!!!!) and re-install AND re-download ALL your mods :)

Just delete the certain characters saved files that you have already deleted... Just go into the WTF Folder, go into your account, and drag the character folders that you don't use from each realm folder.
