Can't create BE or Draenei characters

I have Burning Crusade installed and seems to be working ( I get the TBC sign-in page anyway).

Anyway, I tried to roll a new Draenei character and I don't get the choice for Dran or BE, just the grey picture icons on the choose race section. Same as I had on WOW before installing TBC.

Anyone else have this problem?

Hmmm. Reinstalling BC might work.

don't reinstall! (that may mean another hour of re-downloading all the patches) I had the same problem (maybe). You have to manually upgrade your account on the wow site. Go to the part that lets you buy an online copy of BC and before you click a link the second time it'll give you the option: "if you've already purchased a retail BC click here" and then you can upgrade it.

SLUGfly's got it in one. Making BC available is a two step process. You need the physical files located on your system. This is accomplished by installing the game. Then you need to upgrade your account as well, which is done through the website.
