Alchemy 359 won't skillup to 360

Hi guys,

I didn't come here to *****, but rather ask if I'm doing something wrong. I've made close to 40 agility elixirs since I hit 359 alch and I havent gotten that one lvl to 360 so I can farm pot recipes. Has anyone else run into this? The elixir is still green. This is driving me nuts. I've taken to farming primals to make a primal might since it's orange. But I wanted to know if anyone else had this experience.

Well... the other night making silk bandages to get to 225 first aid? made over 200 to skill up those final 5 points.... (to lazy to go and get book...) and the last point took the other person I was with over 30 bandages.

I can't remember any other time I got a point of something green

Cool. I did some reading and realized I haven't gotten the dreamless sleep pot recipe. That should give me the point I need. Thanks!

Despite the colors, the possibility of getting skill points scales a lot. A Yellow that is one point past orange might as well be orange in most cases. A green recipe that has been green a while and is one point from gray will need a lot of luck (a lot more than the 30-40% that green's supposed to be) to gain a skill point.

Still sounds like you got an unlucky streak, but your chances weren't good to begin with.

That makes sense. I appreciate the response. I'll be getting a couple more pot recipes today that should reduce the luck needed. Upside is I've made quite a bit selling those agility elixirs. :) Thanks again.

Well, I'll say this. I feel your pain with the non leveling aspect. My cooking is
at 364/375 and it has been for for about 100, yes, 100 green items made. The
only non green yet is the orange Spicy Crawdad, but you all know how hard it
is to come by those.

i made 140+ imbued bolts trying to hit 340 from 339.

But oh, did i ever make some bags when i hit 340 LOL

Well, I'll say this. I feel your pain with the non leveling aspect. My cooking is

is to come by those.

Just wait till you get that point, and everything is grey except the Crawdad. The crawdad is still orange to 370 or 375, at least. Imagine if it wasn't. On the other hand, I don't know of a single cooking recipe that requires more than 365 (if that).

Spicy Crawdad is the only one on the alliance side. The horde have a quest (in nagrand IIRC) which gets them higher than the alliance.

Spicy crawdads are hard to come by... you need 430 fishing to just cast in those pools. I can barely muster 430 with a 100 lure, 20 fishing pole, and my 310 skill.

I should do what my wife does.. do the fishing turny... you can level fishing while trying to win a +35 fishing pole... and might get a special fish for my fishing outfit. I love the graphic on the hat =]

For alchemy, if you are not in a hurry or anything, simply level up by doing transmutes. Way more profitable and easy on the wallet.
