If you're lvl 58 or above: Southeastern corner of the Eastern Kingdom holds the Dark Portal which is the way to Outlands. Can't remember the zone-name, but if you head south from sunken tempel u can't miss it.

If you're lvl 57 or below: Have a Warlock summon you or a lvl 65+ mage make u a portal. Oh and if you're not lvl 56+ it's hardly worth it as you wont be able to kill anything.

Not strictly true. My lv 55 shammy has her HS set to the Aldor inn in Shattrath city. That way, she can hearth to there, and then jump into a portal to any of the major Alliance cities. It's a little extra hassle going from the Aldor tier to the portals, but it means that I can choose where to go, and cuts down travel time hugely. Pure Haxx :)

Hmm.. Not a great fan of reading more than two lines of a post are you?

Oh dear, not able to read one line of a post, are we?

You said "it's hardly worth it as you wont be able to kill anything"- I was pointing out that it's very much worth it as you can use shatt's portals to make your hearthstone far more powerful, even at low levels.

Kindly remove the beam from your eye before complaining about the mote in mine, and learn to read.

<grabs popcorn>

Oooo a fight on the internets!

BTW, the zone is The Blasted Lands. FP is in the Keep for Alliance. The zone is lower 50's except for the Fel Guards and such around the Dark Portal. Except for the lower area, can't remember the zone name, lots of high level demon folks..bad bad.

Aaah! So you just haven't figured out the Quote command.

Well, gotta learn, trick is to copypaste the bit that you'll be refering to in your post, and put Quote and /Quote on each side of it (with those squared bracket thingies around the Quote and /Quote).

Or if you do know how to quote: What part of my lvl 58+ 'guide' wasn't strictly true?

As for wether or not it's worth it to bind your HS to Shattrath to be able to choose what city it goes to, it depends on a few things:
1) How hard is it to come by a Warlock/Mage who can be convinced to summon/Teleport you?
2) How much will it cost?
3) How often will you be crossing between the continents?
4) How big is the risk of getting banned by Blizzard for exploiting a bug?

My personal opinion is that it's not worth it unless the Warlock/Mage just happen to be around. Also, missing out on the rite of passage known as The Wetlands Gauntlet is a grave loss to any Night Elf, Draenei, or friend of either of those races.

As those arguments wouldn't have been very helpful to the original poster, I didn't borther posting them, as I wasn't expecting anyone to come argue my every point to get his postcount up. Well. My bad.

PS: For those to whom this seem a rather childish fight.. Couldn't agree with you more. However, I have an English examn tomorrow so childish fights are fine by me as long as they keep me speaking the language.

I dont think you get the portal spell for SC until 70. At 65 you can teleport yourself to there.

I looked it up before posting, just to make sure that my memory of a lvl 67 opening a portal from Sethekk Halls wasn't corrupted, and it's in lvl 60 you learn teleport, followed by Portal in lvl 65.

Gah... My now somewhat tainted view of wow players is not being helped by replies like these. Some guy asks a simple question, requiring but a simple answer and suddenly the urge to flex the 'I know more about wow than you do' muscle comes in to play. /Sigh.. Isn't it just easier to answer the guys question and add extra information if you have it? Not just saying 'Ha! But you missed out this information!'

Saying nicely put and here is some extra information if you would want it so much easier and nicer to do than rubbing some guys nose in it that his post did not contain every single bit of information possible. And they say the western world is civilised... Wish I could meet some of these civil people in game I tell you.

Amen, Metatron, and cheers to you.

I'm all about keeping it civil, keeping it nice, and keeping all the smarmy "I know more than you" types in other forums.
