A 5200 would be more than good enough, WoW needs RAM more than anything else and you have enough of that, so yeah get yourself that 5200 and it will run just fine. Oh and Welcome btw.

Don't expect your computer to be able to push the higher end graphical effects or top resolutions. The 5200 is a base card at best, a very weak GPU. It shall hold up better than onboard designs, especially the one you have currently; and it shall certainly be playable. If you can, look out for the 6200 as a few of those were made in old PCI format, and they have better performance, far less likely to be a cause of slow downs and stuttering.

As will the new graphics card. It's at the bottom of it's league, and that generation, the FX series, was already a pretty poor one.
Putting up the resolutions shouldn't make things smaller, unless it's been very poorly coded. Some games are, but most of them scale properly and proportions are kept.

hm..well, i tried to get a radeon installed but i was told because i have a dell its picky about cards. i was recommended an FX 5200 or 5500.

There are a couple of dozen different graphics cards parading the name Radeon, some of them are lousy and others are great. As long as they are PCI based, they'll work in your motherboard. Whoever told you it won't work because it's a Dell was rumour mongering, there's no technical reason to support such a fact. That's why drivers were invented, to increase and change compatibilities of the base system on a software/hardware level at the same time.

well, i was told blue dots or somthing was coming up on the screen. was eitehr the ram or the card. he tested it and it wasnt either. he said my computer wouldnt take the card.
it really sucks...all the new games come out and i cant play them =[ what would buyig a new motehrboard require? would it change anyhting apart from the cards it would support?

To be honest, I'd recommend you start from scratch. New motherboard, new processor, new graphics card. Buy the components and peice it together yourself. There are some pretty good builds possible for $500, ones with proper PCI-E ports, 64 bit compatible dual core processing, and a couple of other nice upgrades such as a 7600 GS; a very nice and very reasonable graphics card that's going to drop in price shortly.
Your current motherboard obviously has compatibility problems, lack of modern port standards (AGP is a ten year old standard, and it doesn't even have that), the graphics are onboard, and the Celeron processor is the weakest line still in manufacture.

i installed the trial and it plays! but there is some lag, but its still playable :) although, would getting a grpahics update give me better performance? and if i buy the full version will it still run like this?

I think a 6200 in PCI format should improve conditions somewhat. Conditions do get worse in the full game at higher levels, raids and battle grounds are quite taxing, especially on onboard graphics.

a 6200 to find cheaply, isnt easy  although i found a rather cheap 5500 FX. should at least help me a bit. dam my outdated compy <_<
