question about herbalism

Hi guys,

My herb skill is 245 now.. and i was reading all the threads about gathering herbs, but a lot of those areas are horde.
I am just a lvl 38 human warlock, so im wondering what the best area(s) is(are) for me to gather herbs. My alch lvl is at 248.

Could someone give me some advise pls?

Hi serilea. I play a shadow priest (level 49) on a PvE server, and have herbalism and alchemy at the 300 level.

I regularly enter horde areas to gather herbs, various alchemy ingredients, and to fish. So, I personally have never had a problem, granted I don't go wandering into Crossroads, Thunder Bluff, etc.

Are you on a PvP server? If so, it might be considerably more tricky for you. However, everything you need to find can be found in alliance areas. As for where to go, it really depends on what you are looking for. My tactic is to every other day or so, go gathering. For example, I hit graveyards for grave moss, Alterac highlands for wintersbite, and farm trolls in the Hinterlands for Wildvine. Because I regularly sell potions using these ingredients.

Unfortuntely, there is no perfect place for every thing you are going to need. Granted, Azshara and Felwood have some nice perks - including fishing. BUT at my level, I go with a 57 hunter that is farming so to survive.

Blindweed, Swamp of Sorrows (I think you're high enough)
Gromsblood, Desolace (at 250).
Failing those, Firebloom, Tanaris and Blasted Lands.
Virtually anything still usable in Stranglethorn (there ought to be a bit).

Right now I'm digging stranglethorn...I especially like how there are numerous amounts of herbs for health potions...which I've found I need in that area.

I personally find herbalism a really hard lvl'ing profession and often find I have the same problem that you're having

I dont know how much time i spent in swamp of sorrows to lvl my herbalism - but it was alot. its full of blindweed and there is also goldthorn, fadeleaf, them whisker thingys. I was horde but I seen plently of lowish level alliance there in my time - even a lvl 15 human rogue in the heart of it :S
I think you can make mana potions with all the blindweed.
just run away from the guards rather than killing them and drawing attention.

thanks to you guys and a afternoon in swamp of sorrows i hitted herb 290 now :)

ive read the older threads about whats next and i saw a couple of times that Azshara is the place to be for this skill lvl.. but is my lvl high enough to farm there?? allmost hitting level 40 with my warlock.
