Professions bug :(

I had 2 professions: skinning and leatherworking. Then I realized I wouldnt be able to make myself equip so I tried changing from leatherworking to tailoring. So I started out by deleting a profession and then tried choosing another. Problem was: I couldnt. So I thought maybe the 2 professions werent compatible with each other so I deleted the second one I had as well. My problem now is I dont seem to be able to choose ANY profession at all and I was wondering if this is a bug in the game? or if I did something wrong? and if thats the case how would I correct this so that I get 2 professions?

How did you delete the professions? Did you use the little 'unlearn' button next to them in your skills tab? If you did then you should be able to pick up new professions and you're probably best off posting a ticket in game requesting support as there may be a bug. You should be able to pick whatever professions you like, even if they're utterly incompatible.

I'm with Syc. Might be a bug, but I'm thinking more you got rid of some buttons on your toolbar and thought you deleted it. No offense intended, just most people never find those little "unlearn" profession buttons unless they ask.

Character Sheet -> Skills Tab -> Click on the Skill, say Skinning -> Tiny little Unlearn button down in the bottom pane, looks like one of those "no/ban" symbols.

No offense intended, just most people never find those little "unlearn" profession buttons unless they ask.none taken :). specialy since I'm just starting and I know, one day once I'm better (which wont be difficult since I'm 100% OMG awful as is) I'll look back at how bad I am now and laugh lol. Tho I must admit: I've gotten much better at finding my own body now :D and I also learn jumping out of elevators and mountains to get down faster aint exactly the best idea in the world.

What they'll tell you first off is to disable any add ons and delete your WDB, WTF and Interface folders. Also, in your wow folder you'll find a repair tool, try running that (I think it deletes the above folders for you, but you can at least say definitely that you've done that). If you use any add ons, before doing any of the above save a copy of your interface folder under a different name on your desktop so you can restore them easily once all the above steps don't work :)

If all else fails, reinstall the game; all your character data is held on their servers so you won't lose anything apart from any settings you - er, set :)

I'd much rather have someone with your attitude in my group than someone who'd been playing for twenty minutes and thought they rocked. And I've been playing for more than a year and still have OMG dramas about stuff.

And jumping off high things is fab, just roll a mage and get slowfall :grin:

Perhaps you're not talking to an 'apprentice' trainer? You have to make sure you're starting with the low-level trainer. Some trainers do all levels (journeyman, expert, artisan), while some only do beginner(apprentice), then send you to the next for the next levels.

That's a very good point :smiley: if the trainer you're talking to is just telling you that he's not interested in/capable of training you, that might be what's wrong, since you may have levelled into a region without a trainer to start you off in your new skills. Let us know where you are, what faction you are and what skills you're trying to pick up.

After all I figured this was like Link where, when you hit the bottom you go "hoof!!!!!" or make some other silly noise. But I really wasnt expecting to die.

Good news is: Only took one kid and one rep to figure my problem out :D so I already began skinning everything again and this time I'm saving the skins to make nicer stuff to wear.

Best news tho is: I gained 1 more lvl and I finaly got 1 gold coin :thumbsup: and I learnt not to type lol by itself. cause then my char laughs after which I laugh too in r/l

Don't worry ...you'll be fine.I cant get any worse lol. yesterday it took me a good 2 minutes to get myself unstuck after I died and walked in the wrong direction. Friend who was watching couldnt believe I had gotten myself stuck there. I couldnt either.

When you are dead, there is an arrow on yout mini map (top right corner of your screen) that will point to your corpse.


Also, if you think things are confusing now, wait until you get into UI mods! :P

Edit, actually there are a few UI's out there that will make life easier for you.
