Hey Guys, I'm relatively new (lvl 43 War) and my two professions are mining and blacksmithing. As I'm playing along, I've noticed that basically I havn't been able to use a single thing I can make because my BS skill is behind my leveling. My question is this: Is it worth keeping BS current? Will it actually provide useful gear at my lvl, or should I just ditch it until I'm higher and just take up skinning or herb? At this point I'm almost thinking the increased money from gathering might be better, but wanted to hear some other opinions.

Leveling BS at 60-70 is a pain. You either have to be very rich or have a lot of time on your hands. I'd level it now so you can mine your materials while questing/grinding instead of having to go back and farm or paying out the ass for goods on the AH.

Well, the way I leveled my BS 90% of the time was simply by selling myself
per se. I would post out my level and any special things I could craft. I
would craft free if they supplied the mats (as most people do). This way they
are leveling it for me basically. Granted, it took a little bit sometimes if you
had run of the mill stuff, but if you can get your hands on some elusive item,
you will be set. Thorium Shield Spikes were the ticket I had then. Post TBC
it is armor sets like Khorium Ward, Ragesteel, Felsteel, etc....
