I have all the mats for a runed silver rod, except the silver rod.1. What is the best way to get one? 2.Do i need one to level up enchanting?

You need to either buy one off the AH or from a friend with blacksmith skill (or is it engineering? can't remember).

Yes you do need it to level enchanting. Higher enchants need the higher rods.

Don't make the same mistake I did and keep making the lower rod when you notice it's disappeared (it is consumed to make the new rod)...the new rod will work with all the lower enchants!

Blacksmith was correct. Also available from the auction house for a nominal fee, around 2g on my server.
