i just started lvling my bs skill.. im currently at 236. But i dunno if i should do the armorsmith vs. weapon smith quest pre tbc? or should i just skip it since i know a new quest will be given when i reach 350 in skill.

all in all.. my question is:
should i make the pre tbc smithing quest, or does it not matter? cause it is quite expensive.

thx in advance

regards.

as it stands at the moment you can only make a chest piece at lvl 70 and though it is a very good bit of kit its only 1 chest piece and i cant see the benifits of it over the fellsteel or ragesteel armour any black smith can make and you get a full set with bonus for it as well, so my advice (as an armourer) would be to go weapon smith.
take the quest chain to be weapon smith but you dont need to be hammer or sword smith as a weapon smith can make all the class's of weapon now

so i should make the bs quest i get at skill lvl 200 or sumit? or should i just wait for the q at lvl 350?

I'd go with the pre-bc quest for the equip you can learn to lvl the BS faster. I have the boots and helms... Just need a dang fire thing to complete the chest piece then I'll be done =)

go weapon smith then when leveling you have the option of mace, axe and sword to make along side the armour and equips you pick plans up for on your travels

I've heard you can skip this quest entirely and just learn axe/mace/sword smithing directly from a trainer? Is this true, and if so how does it work?

Just to clarify, I mean can you avoid the "The Way of the Weaponsmith" quest?

as far as im aware you need to do the weapon smith quest but you dont need to do the sword hammer or axe quests as a weapon smith can craft any weapon

Dwarfenhelm,

You are wrong. A weaponsmith can't craft every weapon. There are some incredible Axes that only Axesmiths can make and use. Same as Macesmiths and Swordsmiths. To see what these items are, talk to the weaponsmith trainer in Shattrath.

Also to the OP, there is no weaponsmith type quest at level 350.
