Are they selling on your server? And if so, for how much? I am the sole vendor of these things on my server...and I've sold a grand total of 2. Yes, two. I'm on a new, and very poor server. I'd say that maybe 1/40 or 1/50 of the level 70's on the server have their epic flying mount. Because of this, Primal Mooncloth went into the dumps.

Because it's expected that no one would buy PM bags, once people had made their PM set (I'm not sure if ANYONE has the whitemend patterns...I've not seen any advertising), they started selling their PM, instead of making bags. For a period of about 2 weeks, I was buying any PM I saw between 25-30g. I've gathered around 40 PM.

Since then (mostly because people have stopped making it, because the primal airs/waters are more valuable thant he cloth), people have stopped making them. The ones that remain on AH are selling for about 40-45g. I've priced my bags at 400g. I think this is reasonable, considering I'm the only person even trying to sell them. However, like I said, I've only sold 2. Is it time reduce my prices? Or do I just wait for others to find the money?

I've priced my bags at 400g.

lol.

Would you pay 400g for a 20slot bag or 12G for a 16? or even 20g-30g for an 18 slot. I know which i would choose

I think till the economy matures more even on well balanced servers the economics of the primal mooncloth bag are pretty poor. On my server Primal mooncloth is 75g (other two are 95g) and even though large amounts of cash are flying around (1200g recipes anyone?) most people would still consider it a very large investment for a couple more slots.

well...obviously it's a luxury item. It's for those players that have basically everything they need. The mats cost between 350g-370g. It's not like I could sell them for much less. But, I will take your post to mean, "it's not viable to sell them at all." (Both of you)

There comes a point where bagspace is prestigeous..when you have your epic mount and all....

Warlock here with arcane-res/arena/dps/whatnot gear (Felheart for old time sakes) - and suddenly 4 more slots per bag is a huge improvement.

400g for a 20 slotter is not too much, they sell for up to 600, 700 on my server.

Ofc Primal MC is 80-120 gold..so selling that is even better money...

well...PM only sells for about 40-45g on my server. Spellcloth is about 75g, shadowcloth is about 90g.

I am currently saving all cloth anyhow...got my Frozen Shadoweave set and the first BoE Spellstrike items pop up (Battlecast too), so I wanna have mats ready and just need to pay for the service (and the primal nether)

I've seen that bag once on my server - going for 1k gold. I'm pretty sure no one bought it...

I've seen them listed on my server three or four times for around 600g. And every time I've seen their listing time remaining go to "Short" before they vanish. I don't think that they're selling.

Most people are saving 5k gold for their epic flyer. Even though I'm a tailor I won't make a 20 slot bag for myself until I'm just swimming in Primal Mooncloth and have nothing else to make with it.

Once more and more people have their epic mounts though and more disposable income you might see sales increase. As of now though you'd make more money selling the cloth itself in most cases.

i make the netherweave bags to sell. i usually farm the netherweave but even if i bought the netherweave off the AH, i'd still make 50-75% profit. the bags above 16s are just too costly to produce and to risky to sell. i will probably make the 18 slot imbued bags for myself once i have nothing else to do, but right now i am just trying to get my tailoring to 375 which means i need all that cloth for other things.

okay. So, I understand that selling them now is a bad choice. However, given my situation, do you still think I should sell the PM, itself? I bought it for 30-35g. It's selling for 40-45g. I would make about 1700g total revenue...or 400g profit. However, if I wait...once people have more disposable income, and the bags are selling more readily, the price will go up. Even a modest increase...say, to 55g each...would result in bags selling for about 500g. If this happens, I would make a total of 2500g, or 1200g profit.

This seems like the better solution to me (just being patient). However, If someone has a different take on the situation, please share.

its speculation, pure and simple. while the scenario you laid out might happen, what also might happen is that as more and more people reach a certain level in tailoring, the cloth might become more accessible which will flood the market causing the price to drop.

also remember that if you have a lot of it, you can only list so many at a time, otherwise you'll end up competing against yourself. people are a lot less willing to pay a certain price if they see you've listed 20 of the same item at that price. it tells them that you have an excess and if they wait, you'll have to lower your price to move your goods.

wow economies are dynamic and change frequently. for instance, the sheer number of players in outlands has caused pre-tbc mats to sky rocket in price on my server. before tbc, rugged leather (i'm a skinner) sold for around 1.75-2.5g a stack. now it's 4-6g a stack cuz most of the high lvl skinners have left azeroth and gone over, and you don't get any rugged leather from mobs in outlands. and the price of runecloth is also almost on par with mageweave.

just my two cents.
