Any luck with moss agate?

Please, tell me your best method for acquiring these things en masse. Other than the AH because its getting expensive. I certainly do appreciate any helpful information, thanks.

Yep ...mine for it. Tin will throw you a Moss agate from time to time. I dont recall getting it from iron. Seems that iron usually gives me jade. Tin gives me lesser moonstones and moss agate. You are not going to get them in mass without putting in lots of time mining. I believe duskwood has a good amount of tin.

I actually got the majority of mine from prospecting tin ore, more so than Iron.

there's a fair bit of tin that at least when i was playing the area was fairly untapped and that's bloodmyst island - the 2nd newbie zone for Draenei. Managed to get a fair bit of tin before i finally left.

If you want tin, I've found tons of Tin in Thousand Needles, especially the mesa part (not really so much in the Mirage Raceway part). Desolace also has decent Tin, but Thousand Needles has a crap load of Tin. I'm not even a Miner and run across Tin all the time there.

I'm a miner on a couple toons, and I basically never pull gems. An occasional shadow gem or tiger's eye, but that is it. I've a 43 paladin miner/skinner, and have only ever pulled those two gemstones. I'm up to 250 or so in mining.

One zone every miner should know is The Charred Vale in Stonetalon Mountains... contains everything from copper to truesilver... strangest zone in the game... there is only few iron and tin veins and a lot of copper and mithril...

Followed the prospecting advice, it worked. With a stack of tin ore I got 2 moss agates along with a few other gems. Not bad, better than hoping to find one in a chest or to drop off a mob. Thanks for the information.

Hm. You must just not have good luck on the server, because Moss Agate is always on the AH for me, and even when I try to put it up to sell it doesn't go for more than a gold. I acquired mine through random lower level chests, and mining.

yeah it's 5 "white" ore per prospect. you cannot prospect "green" ore like gold/silver. usually you get one gem and ore dust (vender junk).
