Why does blizzard insist on making the outland gear SO UGLY. Seriously my mage looks like hes in a damn clown suit right now..to top it off a TUNIC?! Im a mage give me a clown robe at least! Overall the staffs and the rest of the weapons are a lot better than they were pre-bc but the rest is just pure ugliness. Sometimes i dont want the better stats just because it looks so ridiculous to wear it. Anybody else feeling me on this lol? When are they going to let us dye our armor FFS.

I didnt have this problem leveling, or even after 70. In fact, most of the gear I came across had a great look/feel to them, which is even more so at 70. Perhaps its a plate/mail thing.

Are you in mix-match gear from leveling? Are you still leveling? The same thing happened 1-55, so maybe im just failing to see the difference.

Yeah I agree with ya there, the cloth pieces while leveling does make you look like a clown. Esp. this pair of brown pants I had which what little big black dots on them. Would not have been bad if I had a robe to cover it up. But when you get to 70, the Tier3.5 pieces that drop look very good imo. Esp for a warlock.

Yes..and there is a huge petition on some of that in the official profession forum. Spellfire / shadoweave set is a joke for an epic tailored set that cost blood sweat and tears to make.

Hope it will look epic indeed soon. After all, Nemesis was once a laugh and got fixed.

Without reading any of the replies:

Stop playing WoW and learn to draw nice pictures.

Otherwise deal with it.

I am in a bad mood and i thing Stigg posted a similar post about looks a while back. I wear the stuff that helps me, i would even do so in real life. And trust me i look horrible in real life.

So you wear stuff that helps you in real life? What's your real life attack power?

You're kidding right? He needs to go for RL +stam and +agil or leveling through his career ladder solo will be a pain.

umm its a game, blizz is a business, and we are its customers. blizz is by no means infallible. if there's enough outcry for something, it makes sense for them to fix it. i see nothing wrong with that. personally i dont worry about it too much cuz im still only 65. so all my gear is completely mismatched. but once i reach 70 and try for set pieces and other epics, i'd want at least for them to look cool after all the time and money invested. it doesnt make sense from a business perspective for blizzard to make its customers feel that their investment hasn't been worth it.

...true. from a business pov, blizzard should be concerned with what issues players are having. unfortunately, it usually falls on deaf ears, if not short.

I believe this 'ugly' gear problem is present for all classes. Know what does the Horde PVP gear for rogues look like?

A rhinoceros.

And I'm still trying to answer the question on how 'flaming shoulders' help with stealth.

Oh, not to mention the tier 4/arena gear head looks like something from The Phantom of the Opera, just tons uglier. Spikes on the mouth part? Do I look like an insect?

I had to laugh at the "flaming shoulders" comment.

I'm a 44 fire mage at the moment, so obviously I don't know much about 70 gear just yet. You reminded me of when a couple of mages popped into AH with glowing shoulders (I don't know whether these are the "flaming shoulders" you speak of), but they made me I fall about laughing. These guys looked completely rediculous. Now, clearly they felt they were cool, and each to their own, but even if the stats are amazing, I would have to resist the temptation to wonder around WoW looking like a firefly  - LOL!!!

Hey! I liked my ugly green ankle wraps! There I was...a sight to behold...pretty cool looking leather set in reddish-brown tones...the pieces matched fairly well. Nice, mean-looking daggers, and a wicked-looking face mask. Look down and what do you see? My bare feet with ankles wrapped in bright green :)

I was glad to get the next upgrade...everywhere I went with the greenies, people would say, "Nice boots!"

I cannot complain, though. The stats were good for that level, and they served me well. Also, nobody forced me to wear them...I could have kept my previous set piece boots if I chose :)

Know what I missed during the 60-70 grind? Giant, imposing, gnarly shoulder pieces. I went from Beastmaster to little shoulder pads that resembled the ones my mom used to Velcro in her shirts back in the 80s.
And don't get me started on my boots. They're red and orange. But not in the "I'm on fire!" cool kinda' way. More like, "I work at McDonalds. Wanna' dual?" kinda way.

I apprechiate your bad mood. Hell, I am in a bad mood a lot and hate the world. Funny however how we warlocks loved out T2 looks with the nice helm and all. Was an ugly turban at first and got changed. The petition reached 500 posts...I am pretty suer things will be fixed.

Joking aside...DraedynLei has a point. Blizzard better please its customers...

Oh goodness, don't start that! My poor little shammy was saddled with her "bits of dead fish" shoulders at 60, which she wore until she got the nice mail quest reward shoulders from Mana Tombs.. I didn't mind the rest of the clown suit, but those may was well have not been there, was wishing there was a "hide shoulders" option :)

It really doesn't carry the look off, the whole treehugger-meets-Molly-from-Neuromancer thing, when you have bits of dead sea creature glued to you (no, not referring to the little mermaid, who didn't have glowing claw weapons, when last I checked).

Shallow? Moi? Probably!

I have to say, now Im in my kara/gruul gear, its starting to look better and better :)

Apart from my 'space hat' (as I've nicknamed the t4 headpiece), and the searing sunblade (thats as big as my arm and a DAGGER) my rogue looks pretty damn awesome :)

Immolation traps work underwater, so why not? :)

(Leaving aside the fact that a nice mixture of iron II oxide and aluminium shavings burns very nicely under water, once you get it started with a bit of magnesium, ahem..)

hehehehe!!! yes, of course you're right, but still that's no motivation for me to set my shoulders on fire, not even under water.

They punish you on the way to 70. Once you hit 70 and start getting some 5 man blues the gear is very very nice looking. I think all the tier sets look great.

I will often take looks over stats.. To an extent anyways. If the stats are not much of an upgrade, and my old one looks better, I will keep the old one... The one toon of mine that Im real picky with what he wears is my Undead Mage. Mages' need to be wearing a robe... No ifs, ands or buts about it.
