Killing a faction leader is a hard thing i believe (dont know if anyone accomplished it, though i am new to the business)
however i heard that there is a quest that u have to kill Prince Kaelthas
who is Blood Elves faction leader.
or not?
can anyone tell the storyline for that end game?
İf it is true blood elves, by killing their leader, are betraying their brethren.

Kael'Thas is not really their leader anymore:
- Lor'themar Theron (http://www.wowwiki.com/Lor%27themar_Theron) is.
- Kael'thas also promised to come back to Azeroth to help his people, but it seems he plans nothing of the sort.
- He has joined the Burning Legion (http://www.wowwiki.com/Kael'thas_Sunstrider#An_Unholy_Alliance) and defected from Illidan since he found out that Illidan turned mad.

All three make him not only NOT the faction leader anymore, but also a very killable target

Kael'Thas is the last boss in the Eye of the Storm raid instance in Tempest keep.

So anybody can kill him. Just requires you and 24 battle hardened, well equipped and hard working comrades to take him down.

World leaders are the guys like Thrall and Cairne Bloodhoof who dwell in the capital cities and require about 40-60 well equipped, battle-hardened people working togather to take down.

I'd love to see something like that. I've logged into the aftermath of world boss raids in IF and SW, but have never actually been witness to one.

Even on the most hardcore of PvP servers these are rare. It requires a large number of people to be able to work togather and stay togather long enough to do it. This also puts a huge strain on the servers and crashing the servers during these is not uncommon, and most people don't like to crash the server.

I've heard about the server crash. I think this actually happened on Khaz Modan in my early WoW career. I remember not being to log on (not on a Tuesday) for a while, then finally getting online and seeing skeletons all over IF.

On my server An aliance guild managed to kill thrall, carine, and possibly sylvanis. It was relitivly painless for the aliance, as they were in vastly superior gear. (This was when the server was pretty new)

plenty of videos of faction leader kills on youtube... just search for them. what you will find is that they usually occur on RP servers *and* at odd times like 4am.

I watched a pretty large group try to take down the queen in the undercity on firetree. It was like at 4am. They were doing good untill they aggroed that big demon dude, he was killing them in one hit. Also they had those battlemasters on them.

On our server, every faction leader on both sides has been killed at least once.

Oh, and Kael'thas probably isn't even a proper Blood Elf anymore. Word on the street is that he has become some sort of uber-Wretched, bent on absorbing the entire Netherstorm.

Here is a screencap from when Alliance killed Thrall on Balnazzar US.

It was a few months back, they hit during raid hours when most horde were gone, and came through the back door. They also got Cairne but by the time they hit UC they met a wall of AoE in the queen's hallway. :D

I've been wondering. What is the Honor point gain from killing Faction leaders? I know you get a decent amount but I've never actually seen what it was.
