Hello ever1, I am trying to create a guild called "Blue Öyster Club", but my problem is that the O with the two dots above it is not set in my keyboard and I have to use Character Pallette to insert it. This of course will not work in WoW as it is full screen, so does anyone know how I can place this in my keyboard? And by the way, I am on a mac.
I don't know if Ascii works the same on a MAC as it does a PC - but you could just find an ascii chart on google, and try it out and see.

Why use a symbol that's going to be a pain in the butt for the whole guild?

If macs feature separate keyboard settings for other languages, try a swedish keyboard layout :)
Type Option-u, and you'll see the umlaut (the two dots) show up highlighted. Then type O and it will merge with the umlaut to form the character you're trying to get.

To make an ö in Mac, type Option (alt) U, and then O. But I agree, this is not a good thing to do- it's too hard to type.

btw, for those of you who lack the ability of basic smarts, you can put WoW in a windowed mode by clicking on options, video, then just click windowed in the right hand corner. also, you can whisper to people by clicking on them then right clicking their profile, they dont need to be on your friends list, and if you see some one with an odd character in their name, to type it, just shift click on their name.

Be careful how you phrase things, my friend. You might not like it if you wake up the mods over simple things like the tone of your post.
FYI: Not everyone can switch to windowed mode. If I attempt it on my computer, it crashes WINE hard, if not requiring an Ctrl-Alt-F1 switch to a secondary terminal, to then do a "ps aux", find wineserver, as well as WoW*****, and kill it. Then to go in and edit my config.wtf to get rid of the windowed mode option I just put in it, so then I can switch back to my X display and load WoW again.

Yeah, I like to shift-click on them and then on the report button to see how long it takes a GM to make them change it. You see, those characters are not allowed in player or guild names. Hope that helps prevent some frustration down the line.

Actually, they changed that rule in the naming policy a while ago.
