inactive accounts

Hi Im trying to figure out how long an account can be inactive before being deleted, is there any way to keep your account "active" without buying time to play the game?

Go onto the main site and log into your account. At the bottom of the page click Cancel Subscription.

This basically freezes the account when your game time runs out...in their FAQ it says that they never actually delete accounts (At least not yet) so it isn't going to disappear mate. I had my account cancelled for about 6 months when I got bored of it...came straight back to it 6 months later with nothing changed.

Blizzard has stated they will never purge inactive accounts. Give up WoW, come back two years later, your characters will still be there.

My guess is it helps to keep interest in the game. If you're going on a hiatus for some reason, and know you'll get back into it in six months, what reason would Blizzard have for purging it?
