thats my question...when in an instance and a 2hander drops, how do i know right away if its better or worse than my current duel wield setup? or even a quick calculation?

I suppose you are a warrior, huh? Well, I'm not familiar with warrior gameplay, but a friend of mine who did use a warrior told me that generally, dual wielders are fury warriors, while two handers are arms warriors. Which warrior are you?

If you are a warrior and a 2 hander drops that is better than the one you own I would have no problems with you rolling need on it. What I tend to do is link my current 2H to show its a viable upgrade for me. The only exception may be if you know a boss has a chance of dropping a 1h you are after but even then there is no guarantee that particular boss will drop what what you want.

Generally, 2h = PvP (Arms spec) and DW = PvE (Fury spec), if anyone asks say you will use it for PvP. Its similar to shadow priests wanting +dmg and +heal gear, they want one for PvP (and solo PvE) and the other for PvE healing.

as for PvE, you want to consider protection - 1-hand/shield combo, if you are talking instances/raiding, but general questing in the enviroment, your right in the assumption that the PvE build of choice is Fury.
- just remeber people will buuh at you if you try tanking in with a 2-hander or DW (it tends to require great gear to do that)

<60 I've never used a shield to tank, and I always did fine, never got any bad comments either. (It's <70 now, though.)

I guess most of your gear was above average in those cases, right?

Giggle, enjoy your heroic instances. Only things tanking there without a shield are STORNG BAER DURIDs.

did the healer ever group with you again?

done a few none heroic instances were the "tank" asked if he could dps, was healer back then and as i could handle it, it wasnt a problem.

wouldnt wont that in a heroic dungeon tho, but then i wouldnt want a fury warrior pretending to be a tank doing the tanking in a heroic either.

Yup, never had any complaints, and on the way to 70 I haven't done any instancing, really.

yes I am a warrior and yes I am DW fury right now. I dont think i'll be staying fury though in the future as I am lvl 55 now. I'm starting to look for other weapon options, and before I roll for something I want to make sure its better than my DW setup. I have a 37 and 35 dps DW setup, I know you dont simple look 35+37=72, so get a 2h sword thats 75+dps, it doesnt work like that, so I'm looking for a simple or complicated formula or observation to help me decide
